Phone wakes up by itself...

While driving with phone in a Pro Clip mount, it will wake up by itself. Put the phone back into sleep mode and shortly after it will wake up again.

The phone is suspended over the side of the dash by the mount and shakes slightly. Seems the phone is being woke up by the slight vibration or shaking.

Any fix so the phone won't wake up without pulling the stylus, opening the keyboard, or pressing the on/off button.

Thanks,

Skid

Mine wakes up when the signal switches to roam and vice versa. I don't know that there's any way to prevent this from happening.

Hi Visor,

Thanks for pointing that out. I never thought of that. Will try driving with the phone in airplane mode and see if it still wakes up.

Will report back in a couple of days.

My TP used to wake up for seemingly anything. If I got an email, a txt, it would wake. Obviously on a call it wakes. It seems to wake anytime it checks stuff in the background too.

It's a known issue... It happened with all 8 TPs I had... It still happens with my TP2. Not the best thing for your battery life either.
Not sure if there's a fix for it. I just deal with it.

Hi Arrrghhh & Astechka,

I was aware of it awakening for text messages and such.

Didn't know it coming on, was a common problem with the Touch Pro.

It's rather annoying when it lights up just sitting there on the dash.

Thanks for your input,

Skid

Re: Phone wakes up by itself...

Well, I drove for several days with the phone in sleep mode and in airplane mode. Doing this the phone didn't wake up. Therefore, it wasn't a problem with vibration but with entering roaming areas.

Thanks all for your imput,

Skid
