Face Buttons Unresponsive after standby

When I do a soft reset, my phone is fine and everything works okay. However, after the first time the screen cuts off to standby, when it resumes the buttons on the bottom panel (Home, Back, Call, End, Select) no longer function.

I'm wondering if this is a known issue, and if there's anything I can do to patch it or look it up. I've tried a few different roms, and it's intermittent on many.

When you flash a new rom always make sure to task29 beforehand. Also, after you flash, don't install any cabs and see if the problem still persists. And remember, google is your best friend when it comes to troubleshooting.

Thanks. I had actually never heard of Task29. Just ran it with the stock bootscreen on my phone, and now I'm gonna try re-flashing and see how it goes.

Re: Face Buttons Unresponsive after standby

Well, even after a full wipe with Task29 and a reflash with two separate roms, the behavior sticks. As soon as the phone comes back from standby mode the buttons just fail.

If it's at all relevant this is a Sprint Touch Pro. If there's no alternative I might just find a way to disable standby entirely. Sure keeping the LCD on will drain the battery, but being able to use the answer and hang up buttons FAR outweighs that.

edit: From what I can see the power button's ability to shut off the screen is pretty deep in most roms. Maybe installing a power managment app might let me get around the issue? Any advice is welcome, as my phone camera is also useless like this, and prevents me from taking ANY pictures when out.

Re: Face Buttons Unresponsive after standby

Well, I replaced the keyboard in my phone (common issue with this phone) but unfortunately this didn't work any magic and make the issue stop.

If anyone has a recommendation for a program to prevent standby let me know. While it's a poor solution, I'd rather have all my buttons.

edit: Used Keepalive 1.1 and RaphKeyboard config to get around this issue. Keepalive is set to detect manilla and prevent the phone from entering standby. Keyboard Config let me map the power button to lock the phone instead of setting it in standby. Ideally this will let me dodge the problem for now.
