Cell not booting .. Want to flash rom

Dear All,

I am from India and new to this thread . And i am new to HTC device.
I am a software engineer and working on multimedia embedded devices (linux platform). And i am aware of basic terms like kernel, flashing firmware etc


HISTORY

My brother has brot hiz old HTC touch pro CDMA(Sprint) from US.
He has bought Samsung Captivate(AT&T) and he handed over hez old HTC to me .
But i was not able to power on the phone cause the battery is blown up
But when i connect the cellphone to my PC using mini usb cable, the mobile screen shows some display in white screen for less than a second which reads

" Loading
No Image File !
"

and it will immediately changes to other screen which reads

And the screen will be stuck over there.

So My quetions are:

1] Which PC SUITE i have to install in my PC to connect my HTC ? is there any pc software to manage htc devices?

2] What does above message means ? and if ROM image has corrupted is there any way to reflash the ROM image ?

3] The cell has 1GB micro SD card. Is it possible to put android image to SD card and directly boot to android without booting to windows ?

Please guide me to bring up this HTC device .. I am using Windows 7 at home.
Later i am planing to boot same device with Android also. I have already read android thread in this forum .
