Weird Headphone Issue

OK,, just noticed this the other day. When I plug in my HTC usb charger extension then plug my headphones (wired) into that, everything seems to work fine. No sound via the phones speaker. THEN, when I plug my HTC charger into the extension, my headphones quite and sound starts coming out of my phone speaker instead...
I have no idea when or why this started and can't seem to find any settings that might cause this. Weird, eh?
Anyone have a clue as to how to fix this or what I might have done to cause it? Oh yea,, last thing to be installed before I noticed this was the "flip2mute" cab, which I have uninstalled.

Thanks in advance,

That's really strange... My wife has the TP and we use it in the car all the time... We plug in the power to the dongle the dongle to the phone and the cassette adapter into the headphone jack. No problems. We even take and make hands free calls that way.
I run the same setup with my TP2 without issue.

1. Were you EVER able to listen with wired headphones while plugged in before?
2. Is the power adapter plugged into the wall or a usb connection on your PC?

1. Yea, used to use this setup all the time at work until a few months ago. No problems...
2. The power adapter is plugged into the wall. I keep it at work to keep my phone charged.. Plugged into the same UPS that I've been using since I got my TP.

Yea,, REAL weird... I could see if I'd installed some app since then but like I said, only thing i've installed is the "flip2mute" app but I've since uninstalled that. (didn't like it).

Thanks in advance!

YEAH.... Sorry bro... I'll keep an eye out for something similar but I've never seen this before.

The only other thing I can think of is that there might be a problem inside the adapter. You could test this if you could get with someone who has an adapter too.
I find them handy and bought like 4 of them from Amazon.com for like 5 bucks @ with shipping. Might be an option but a bummer if that's not the problem.

Anyone else have any ideas?

No problem... Good idea about the adapter... The OL has a twin to mine and I'll see if I can dig out her adapter... Odd though, it's just been sitting in my desk drawer since the last time I used it.

Thanks again.

Make sure to post up an update. Maybe someone else can be of more help if that's not the issue.

Have you tried connecting them in reverse order? I. E. Charger then headphone? I seem to recall reading a while back some of the custom roms caused some weird things to happen with headphones and the extensions. Some folks had a workaround that involved a convoluted connection sequence.

Just a thought...

Excellent idea, but yes, I did try this already and I'm using a stock rom.
Tried dongle, headphones, charger.
dongle, charger, headphones.
You get the drill.

Thanks anyway...
