Unlock Alltel/Vreizon Touch Pro to work in Nigeria?
I have a unique question that i was hoping someone could help me with. I wanted to give my old Touch Pro to my sister who is now living in Nigeria. She is here in the U.S. for a visit and her phone broke. She said that as long as it is unlocked, they should be able to use it in Nigeria with a per-paid service (most if the plans in Nigeria are pre-paid type plans).
I assumed it wouldn't work because i figured it would need to be GSM? Since i am not sure though, i figured i would ask. Also, if it would work, would i need to unlock the sim card as well? I know you can do that with the TP2, but i never looked into it on the TP. The TP i wanted to give her is the Alltel version just before the merger (thank God - the verizon version was awful). Can anyone give me any insight on this or point me in the right direction? Thanks! |
Re: Unlock Alltel/Vreizon Touch Pro to work in Nigeria?
It won't work, the US and parts of Southern America are the only real areas that use CDMA.
If it were a CDMA/GSM capable phone then yes it would work, but standard Touch Pro's are only CDMA. |

I think this is the information you need to see CDMA coverage in Nigeria.
