PPCGeeks - tethering suddenly stopped working

I use tethering on a daily basis.

Last night and today it wont connect to either of the PC's ive tried it on and both computers give me the same "local area connection has limited or no connectivity" type error.

For what its worth I can broadcast wifi and connect to both computers that way. Buuuut I stay tethered all day and thats too much overheating to leave wifi router on all day.

Im more interested in ideas as to why it sudden;y wont work after years of working...

Sidenote: recently my phone also recognized my existing storage card as "storage card (2)" which is weird and has caused some problems obviously. This micro SD hasnt ever been removed from the phone either!!
