Sprint - No Data/No Voice in certain areas, Error 1012
 

Hey folks - could use a bit of help here.

Currently running Energy Jun 27 21907 on a Sprint Touch Pro.

When I am in certain areas (unfortunately my home) my phone will get stuck in 1X mode with no data, no voice, nothing. When I try to make a call it says "To make a collect call to a mobile phone or a land line phone press 1..."

I've been looking all over for similar problems but nothing seems to fix it. So far I have installed the Update Profile and PRI cab but when I try to run the update programs I get a error 1012 (both synced and not synced to my PC).

I ran the Provisioning app for Sprint but that didn't work.

I installed Shaggy's PPST cab to allow me access to ##786# and ##382# but the restore didn't work either.

My PRI is 1.53_003
My PRL is 60613
Any other info from in there that would be helpful?

The weird thing is that sometimes it will just start working. Like I will drive somewhere and it will pop into EVDO and everything will be fine. Sometimes it even starts working at my house.

I had the same problem with a completely different Touch Pro and an earlier Energy release. However when I used the Jun 7 23569 ROM on this phone (or the stock ROM) everything is fine.

your pri is good, i'm on 1.47_003, but my prl is 60667. i know that sometimes custom roms have issues with update profile and update prl. you can try switching to stock rom and a couple hard resets, the try update, or search for current sprint prl and save to sd card. if you have your msl code you can update your prl using pst on device.

You should also be able to call into customer support and ask them to flag your phone for a PRL update...

Thx for the input. I got it to update to 60667 but was still seeing a lot of flakiness so I Task29ed and installed the July 2 rom then hard rebooted. Booted up to 1.53_003 and 60667 but cannot get any data connection for the life of me. I've run the Energy Sprint provisioning twice, still nothing. Any thoughts?

Happened to be far away from my home area today and tried an update profile. It worked and now I have data - everything seems ok.
