Alltel touch pro?
Well I had an Alltel touch pro (Stock) and after a while some of my calls wouldn't go through. If I sent a text it would give me a message resend error like 100 times and if I didn't say yes to the retry the message wouldn't send it, or if I did say yes I would every time and the message would send as many times as I got the failed message notification
after calling up verizon and going through customer service they told me I had a deffective device and sent me a new (Refurbished) touch pro, same thing happened after I had it for a few hours. called again and got another touch pro. Not only did the screen have a slight purple tinge but after a few hours started having the same problem. This phone I hadn't run any non-stock programs. I was then sent a new phone which had, what do you know? The same problem after a few hours. after about 5 phone calls to verizon and explaining that I KNEW another touch pro wouldn't fix this. (and going through all of the trouble shooting tips including hard reset over the phone with all the representatives) I was transferred to someone who got a note placed on my account that if I had the problems after hard resetting my current touch pro they would allow me to pick any phone of my choice. this was also a problem since they were piecing together a warranty phone for me and they had the battery but not the battery door. blah blah blah, long story short I got my refurbished touch pro 2 with no battery. i called verizon again and complained and the representative was nice and said simply "Oh, sorry for the mistake I guess they were trying to give you a warranty replacement when they should have sent you a new phone." got my brand new in box touch pro 2, 2 days later bnib touch pro 2! TLDR free upgrade, no contract renewal! just thought I'd let you know, hadn't seen anything like this on here yet. |
Re: Alltel touch pro?
wow,, sounds like you went through hell. So, the TP2 isnt doing the same thing? sounds like a problem with the local towers or equipment in your area.
And the topic is more confusing.. Alltel Touch Pro? lol Good luck with your new TP2.. Lucky! |
Re: Alltel touch pro?
No, I think it was more a problem with having an alltel touch pro on verizons network? I kept getting the run-around from everyone at verizon.
at alltel when I went in with my ppc6800 I told him my phone turned on and off and he just gave me a touch pro and told me to call my insurance company and tell them I broke the screen haha. |
Re: Alltel touch pro?
Sounds like an issue with the Alltel phone on VZW network. I have an alltel and sprint TP on VZW and my alltel has intermittent problems even tho it's been flashed over for VZW.

Re: Alltel touch pro?
PRL update?
I"m still using my alltel TP on verizon. Granted I've had to put energy rom on and reflash the radio to get the damn thing to stop locking up whenever I left my home area. I brought it in for help at a verizon store. The manager took one look at it, stated "it's probably locking up because you have too many apps installed". Yep. Good answer genius. With nothing running at the time and only 34 percent ram usage, I'm sure the 50 mb of programs I have installed is just locking it up. It runs ok now that I've done all that, but good god they throttled my 3g connection. I get about 230kbs now, as opposed to 1.5ish mbps under Alltel's system. |
Re: Alltel touch pro?
It was a real pain and sometimes I miss my touch pro but the touch pro 2 is a nice upgrade, and I had never flashed a phone or anything like that (till I got the touch pro 2) and I figured it would help it. A little talking on the phone and a few frustrations are worth the free upgrade. IMO
