Phone freezes when I connect my laptop to wifi router - never did this before

I've been using wmwifirouter for months with no problem and then suddenly, about 2 days ago, my phone freezes up completely as soon as I connect my laptop to the wifi router. The wifi router seems to be working fine before I connect the laptop. Once I take my laptop off the phone's wifi network, the phone unfreezes and the router appears to be running like normal.

I downloaded HTC wifi router and tried it but it does the same exact thing.

Any ideas? I can't think of any changes I've made to the phone at all in the last few weeks.

Sounds like you might have to do a Hard reset, see if it works.
I'm assuming you already attempted a soft reset?

Ya, I've tried soft resets and I even removed a few larger programs in case it was a memory issue but I guess I'll try the hard reset now...

the hard reset worked. i didn't want to do it but after days of my phone freezing because of this and not being able to tether, i figured it was time. thanks for the push. :)
