"Data call failure" message with no data plan
I have a Touch Pro on Verizon and no data plan. I only use wifi, but I keep getting the error message popping up telling me "data call failure". I do have a "data block" that I had Verizon put on my line just to make sure I didn't use data by mistake. Anyone know how to get this message to stop popping up? Thanks!

Re: "Data call failure" message with no data plan
I have the same kind of set up from sprint.
The reason it shows up, is because when you are using wifi and turn of the device wifi is disabled. and when you turn it back on the application is looking for data and since wifi is not connected yet it will say data call failure. thats what happens to me when im using opera with wifi. i turn the phone off, and wifi gets disconnected, when i go back wifi is trying to connect but opera is looking for data. |

So how to stop the error from coming up?

Re: "Data call failure" message with no data plan
Something on your phone is trying to connect to the internet causing you to get this error.

Mastergadgets is probably right
something on your phone is trying to connect to the internet. that should get you pointed in the right direction. |

go through all of your applications that have the ability to request data and make sure they aren't running in the background and make sure under the settings that they can't auto connect by themselves
