Sprint HTC Touch Pro chrome frame cracked at the bottom
 

I am just wondering what my options are as far as getting my phone fixed or replaced. Yesterday I noticed that the silver Chrome boarder had cracked right next to the mic. Now the MIC still works and so does the phone, but it sort of bugs me that this phone now has this crack at the bottom. I read that a little over a year ago there was a recall on these phone regarding cracking on this chrome section, but I am sure that doesn't apply anymore.

I honestly didn't drop it or bang it against anything, and I don't remember even seeing a hairline crack there. It was weird, I just looked over at it sitting on my desk and noticed it was cracked.

So are my options to take it to a Sprint store and see what the techs tell me and they might let me add TEP (Total Equipment Protection) or are they just going to say, sorry you will have to buy a new phone?

you could fight it, but my advice is pay the deductible and get a TP2!

I don't have TEP, but could I go into the store and get TEP added after the tech has looked at my phone? I don't mind paying the deductible especially if I can get a TP2.

You might be sol. They had open enrollment for TEP last month, but now that it's over it's not likely they will let you add it if you are outside the 30 days from purchase window.

If you don't have TEP currently you are indeed SOL.

they will say "sorry, buy a new phone" but it's worth a shot.

buy a bad esn tp for cheap and replace it yourself...or pay a tech to replace it. the only time you can add tep is...open enrollment, which was in march, within 30 days of upgrade or new purchase or after a paid repair at an authorized sprint repair center. if u are eligible for upgrade i would just upgrade and remember protection is important! i have a case, screen protector...and see hypnotics posts about perfect screen protector application and "protection" for the water markers. he is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. good luck.
