Program my Touch Pro for Sprint.. HOW?
 

Ok, so I got my Touch Pro from another carrier to be accepted on the Sprint network... I can make calls.. and data KINDA works.. but usually only for about 5 mins, then I get no response from the network. Any ideas? I know some people have reprogrammed Sprint Touch Pros for other carriers like Alltell or Cricket, any success reverting back to Sprint? Although this is not originally a Sprint TP.

you got sprint to accept a ESN not on there DMD? how exactly did you do this because this will be the FIRST TIME i have ever heard this.

The following statements are true:

1. Sprint will not activate a non-Sprint branded phone.
2. If you activated this phone on Sprint, and Sprint actually took the ESN, then it was a Sprint phone to begin with.
3. If you think there are exceptions, please see #1.

Can I activate a non-Sprint CDMA phone on the Sprint network?

No. Sprint maintains a database of all Electronic Serial Numbers cleared for use on the CDMA network, and will not permit the home location registers to accept serials numbers that are not in the approved list. Some Nextel phones may carry the Sprint logo, these can only be used on the Sprint Nextel iDEN network.
From a business perspective, Sprint has agreements with certain re-sellers of wireless service that specifically disallows either party from activating a phone whose ESN originated from the other party. In other words, you cannot activate a Virgin, STI, or ESPN Mobile (or any other MVNO's phone) on Sprint PCS. This would be a breach of this contract between Sprint and the virtual network.

it wont happpen.... you can activate a sprint device on sprint, then hack your esn friom the TP... sooo NOT legal though... and also i hope it was a CDMA one or its not gonna work either..

id get your money back from whoever sold it to you... you wont get it on sprint without doing illegal things to it..and we cant help ou with those things

Reading Comprehension....

The OP states he already has it on the Sprint Network and is able to make calls with it. So please everyone continue to be nit-wits and explain how they are not able to do it....

OP: You're going to need them to update the security settings. On VZW it's DMU settings that need to be reset, might be same settings for Sprint.

THANK YOU! Yes, making calls, and data works, but seems to fail after about 5 mins or so. I noticed also that the IP I get has a the subnet of 255.255.0.0 rather than 255.255.255.255. Don't know if that means anything...? From most of the responses however doesn't look like this is an easy question to answer...

Seriously people, antagonizing or Barney Fifing someone isn't going to help with the issue this person is having.

OP, make sure you are running the CM_guardian killer. Then search for Sprint TP Data settings on Google if you can't find them here.

There is a file on the TP called CM-Guardian that will rewrite the data info to the stock settings of the phone. Using that cab will make that file an empty file so it does nothing and can't rewrite your adjusted data settings.

Oh, I guess I'm supposed to say you're a bad bad boy and get no cookies because you make illegal. Now I must get off the computer and dial 911 because I've just witnessed a crime..... LOL seriously ppl get a life.

as stated in the other thread, helping is one thing but you have to do it while following the forum rules and keeping things legal. they are easy to find if you need to refresh yourself about them.

Mylt1, as far as I am aware the rules of this forum and site prohibit the *discussion* of any illegal ESN tampering. As far as I am aware, you're the only one who brought that up. If anyone even ASKS how to do such a thing the thread gets closed. And even though you tried to hijack my thread, I've been polite to you.


eXcali, THANK YOU!! Thank you very much for your help! Sadly I bricked my TP, as I posted in another thread, before I got to try your solution. I bet that's all I needed to do! :( I stayed up late one night.. was tired.. wrote all the NV ITEMS to my TP from a different model phone.. BRICK! LOL. Oh well, I knew the risks. I am going to see about warranty service on it. I know it's been less than a year since I got it.. but not sure I can find the receipt. I thanked a bunch of your posts. Oh and thanks for having my back too! ;)

at no point was i trying to hijack your thread. i simply asked how you got a carrier that has NEVER accepted an outside ESN to activate your phone. your blowing off the question answered that and its also why you were having problems. you could have PMed me about how you did it and that would have been the end of it and i could have told you how to fix the problem. but since you did this illegally i can promise you not many would help you since you felt the need to try and cover it up. i now put you in the came category as excali and will avoid you like the pleague since you are both of questionable backgrounds.

PeterMG, if you can get to your boot menu you can usually fix a bricked phone. I'm sure there are a couple threads around here to guide you through it.

Sadly since I followed someone's well intentioned directions, as listed in my other thread, I RELOCKED my phone, so now it cannot be UNLOCKED 'cept after booting into windows mobile.. which I can't do.. cuz it's bricked :( Check out my other thread, let me know if you find anything else on it, but ImCoKeMaN is one of the top leet on here and he said it sounds like warranty repair is the best option.. don't know if there really is any other option for me atm.

Ok, I got it working... voice, data, only issue is that it switches to 1X for data for some reason? Any ideas? it dials up in Ev, then after about 5 seconds switches to 1X then can pass data!?

Check to make sure your user id and password is correct. I dont have my msl right in front of me, but one of the passwords is always 'secret' (w/o the quotes) and the other is your sprint power vision password. I had a similar problem where it wouldnt automatically reprogram my epst settings and I didnt have the secret and the other password in the right spots. When I got them right, i could do evdo instead of just 1xrtt

I have my vision password, it's a 6 character password, and it allows me to do 1X only. But I guess it's my HDR un/pw that isn't working. When I do ##debug# it says authentication failed for HDR. The password I need is some encrypted one that I think must be provisioned. Any idea on how to make it so that Sprint will automatically provision my phone with my correct account information? I know that I have to have something in my PROFILE 0 for it to provision the rest but thus far I've been unsuccessful in finding all that.
