Your going to need a Kitchen to start. Can't cook without a Kitchen.

Look in the upgrade sections (CDMA or GSM depending on your service)

I use Calkulin's Kitchen.

You still need a kitchen to play around with making your own...

The fact the kitchen has some pre-built sys' in it already will only help you figure out what is needed in a sys

Your gonna get the same answer there!

You need a kitchen to build a ROM...
You make your own folders for sys and xip and OEM and EXT and build your own but you still need the kitchen to turn it into a ROM...

It's obvious from your answers you really don't know what a Kitchen does!

If you want to build your own kitchen you might as well just use the tools folder from one of the many already existing kitchens.

I have to agree with Asphyx, you should listen to him.

And I do not believe that you used many kitchens, because if you have, you'd relize that after a while with tweaking, adding OEM packages, changing the sys files to a different WM build, or even dumping an existing ROM and etc... it kind of becomes your own. And trust me you will learn a lot on your own when you play around with your 1st kitchen.
