HTC Wi-fi router on Sprint

I'm gonna be on the road this weekend but would like to get some work done while we're driving. I'm running the latest Energy ROM and using HTC wi-fi router. What I want to know is will I able to use this on Sprint (w/ unlimited data) without seeing extra charges on my next bill?

I tried searching but couldn't find any definite answer or at least anything specifically about Sprint.

I don’t think you will ever find a definite answer to this. I have sprint as well and they claim they will charge you for tethering. I have only used the phone as a wifi router a few of times. I do however utilize the “use the phone as a modem” option all the time and I’ve never endured an extra charge from sprint. So I doubt you will be charged because they have never charged me, but it’s possible.

i have yet to be charged. just make sure you use "Data" not "Phone as Modem".

using the phone as modem option is where they will charge you if they find out (unless you have phone as modem as part of your plan).

using data makes it look like you are surfing on your phone, not on your laptop.

they only real scare is the 5gb limit. i have heard of people going well over the 5gb cap without issue but i have also heard of people going over the 5gb cap and getting hit with charges for it.

I have been using this option for a few years. Am actually using the HTC WiFi Sharing on my TP2 right now to tether. I have never been charged. You should be fine. Just be on the safe the side so you don't get stressed out, after using it for an hour, log into your sprint.com account and check the usage details. Do it before hand too and check whats your current data usage. So this way you know if it has moved and how much. I doubt you will see charges but if you do, then stop using it. Good luck!

I've been using wifi tethering on sprint also and never got any charge from them.
also other posts that I've have read is that do not exceed over 5gig so check your bill often if you tether alot. GL
