PIMbackup sending out ghost text.
 

So basically a few people called me today saying that why I keep sending text with nothing in it. So I traced it down to PIMbackup program. I guess everytime I use restore it sends out ghost text. I do not really care though since I have unlimited. Anyone else notice this?

Well the time the person recieved the text was the same exact time I did the restore....

This happened to me once.. right after I restored my PIM it started sending out old texts to their original recipients... really weird. embarrassing too. my ex girlfriend got one saying "i love you" hahah

Had this issue with an old Titan, it took along time to try and figure it out and it had something to do with the outbox but I don't remember how I solved it.

its not hard to figure out. you probably backed up "messages" & when you did that, i assume there were some messages in the "outbox" that hadn't sent yet. so when u restore them, the phone sends them as you would expect it to.

Same thing just happened to me! Getting a dozen texts like "Huh?!??" or "And just what is that supposed to mean??" or "Hahhaha" as replies from numbers I can't identify b/c PIMbackup is in the process of restoring at 2am... awesome. I'm now staying in flight mode whenever I restore =) Am rather suspicious there were so many msgs in 'Outbox' but will check.

You have to put your phone in flight mode when you do PIMBackup. It is a known issue with it. I had the same issue, and it will resend a lot of messages...once when i did it it resent over 500 texts....

Put your phone in flight mode, back up and soft reset, then you can turn the radio back on without it sending out any texts.

same here, sent out texts a 3am, everyone hated it. there was also 2 people which i had sent them 1500 text in a row, just to bust his chops about how thier phone would not be able to take it. They where resent, that was a horrible mess. :angry2:
