PPCGeeks - PIM issues

Now I am sure someone has posted a solution to this so If it has been posted previously just point me in the right direction. Had to hard reset my Touch pro. Before doing so I saved my pim as pimold.vol and copied it to my storage card. After the hard reset moved the pimold back to my device renamed it to pim (after renaming the factory pim from the reset etc. etc.). When I go to my contacts it blinks and returns to the Today screen (WM6.5). Anyone know how and why or what I can do to get my contacts back?

That method wont work...you have to use PIMPBACKUP software to properly backup your PIM.

So is it too late or is there a way to retrieve my contacts from PIM file?

I'm not sure if you can.
