1x MetroPCS faster than EVDO Sprint!!!
 

Okay so my aunt came over and she has a sprint htc touch pro on Sprint unlimited plan. I notice hers was running on EVDOhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif and mine being on Metropcs shows as 1x. So of course out of Curiosity I lined up both phones side by side and both had two bars. I ran mobilespeedtest.com using 1mb file and guess what...hers running on EVDO averaged 500kbps and mine average 1300kbps running on 1x. I did this multiple times getting same results.

I'm just simply impressed with metropcs.

That sounds great, maybe she just had low 3G coverage =s try putting her phone in 1x to see how it works haha, you must have great metro coverage... when my brother had it, it was horrible.

Like I said we both had two bars and on her phone EVDO was showing meaning her 3G was on EVDO connection.

You were both on 3G. "The 1X standard supports packet data speeds of up to 153 kbps...". You were running at ~10x the theoretical 1x standard.

Ooo i know haha, I don't doubt you mate =] I meant maybe she just has horroble 3G coverage, maybe try putting her phone in 1X mode to see if it gets a little better =P Congrats on owning Sprints coverage in speed wise.

Maybe because im paying $40/Month unlimited and I can do all things on my phone that "A class" carrier offer for over $100 a month.

The title is completely false. It is impossible to get those speeds over 1x data (from my quick google search - it's about 10 times more than the theoretical limit). His 3G speed is faster than Sprint's, so kudos.

I know I'm going to Metro PCS once my contract ends. I'd love paying $40 for what I'm already getting with Sprint. (Don't they share the same towers anyway).
And most likely I could just keep my TP too!!

1. Is your aunt TP on Stock ROM or Custom ROM? and of course yours?
2. What's your Radio that you have on your ROM, is it Metro PCS or something else?

Hers was on sprint stock rom.
Mine is EnergryROM Phoenix 2.
The radio I am using is VERIZON.

It is actually cheaper now, I was paying $40 plus taxes & Fees so around $46. Now they changed there plans to include taxes and fees. So this month my bill was $39.37(including taxes & Fees:headbang:,UNLIMITED), and yes I can do everything on my phone your sprint service can.

I don't think that is a fare test, unless you reflash your phone back to stock and recompared it again. This should give you a better comparison.

Custom ROM already have some registry hacks cooked into it, and plus your using a verizon Radio not a metro Pcs radio. Just my two cents.

Man your lucky I have 4 phones which two has data plan. And I'm paying 170 per month, this cost more than my car insurance. And on top of that I got 30% off the bill.

Like everything else do a little research and see. Metro is different for everyone. Where are you traveling? Do they have coverage there? Are you in one of the flagship markets? MetroPCS is ever changing and always expanding. I remember when they came to florida and were only available in Miami and now I can go anywhere in the state and almost every major city in the US and that is just in 5yrs. Now i wouldnt trade metro for any other company!!

I live in miami and when I had metro back in the day it was off the chain "IN MIAMI" lol... I'd goto Tampa, Fort Myers, Sanibel, Naples, etc and PRAYED they had pay phones around cuz my phone was about as useless as a nuva ring w/ no vagina...

Since than Metro has upgraded a bit but just this past x-mas my homeboy went to philly w/ me for the eagles game and his metro lost service through every state we went through on the eastern coast... "yes we drove for the experience" But congrats on havin a gangster ass metro TP I wish it was good like that when I had metro...

I just did the MST.com/beta and got 1030kb/s on IndaGrooves 2.5 rom with the 1.12.34f Sprint Radio...

I got 266.58Kbps on my Metro Flashed Touch Pro 2 using opera browser on the same website in south florida, is that site accurate?

What arcsoft you guys r using because its not working with mine i could send but cant recive mms i got all the setting right wap and the mms option but on that rom it wont work Phoenix 2' 21889 need help

I got MMS working on any arcosoft version.

Oh come on, as a former Metro customer, in a 1x "3g" area I know you will NEVER get data speeds as high as 1 mbps and im pretty sure that it is theoretically impossible on a 1xrtt data connection. So stop posting fake speed test results, I hope that someone didn't eead this and go out and purchase a 3g metro phone, as their 1x network shouldn't even be legally allowed to be advertised as 3g. Now Sprint may not have the best data speeds at 3g but their EvDo rev a network is and always will be faster than 1xrtt. Nice try though.
