HTC Touch Pro Raph500 Stuck at Verizon loading screen
 

I'm at a loss here and hope someone has got some knowledge I can soak up. I have an htc touch pro that had been unlocked and had an ssk rom on it. I tried to port it to metro but ssk roms apparently lock down the ##data# (or any variants including ##diag#). I've tried flashing it to juicy and mighty; neither would load up, the device would just hang at the verizon screen. It claims that security is unlocked in bootloader and I can make a usb connection with my pc and start to flash roms. It get's to o percent and hangs forever and never loads the rom. I've tried a hard reset and it just goes to I've tried everything and am at a complete loss, nearly ready to just smash this phone to bits and never use htc again...does anyone have any insight? I've already looked at xda and howards forums...

Wrong Place... but I'll help the worried... Phone sounds fine. Bad flash maybe. Soft reset holding power and down vol key ONLY. This should send you into bootloader where you can then try to flash another rom. I suggest you flashing back to stock before attempting to flash another custom rom. GOOD LUCK

Verizon phones are gimped. There are lots of roms that the phone just does not like, and won't get passed the verizon logo on. Lately, I've found that the vast majority of released roms won't boot, I suspect is has something to do with the version of winmo they're based on (later versions need more RAM to boot?).

So really your only option is to experiment with ROMs and find one that boots that you're happy with. Personally I'm on Psyki 090929 (the final release wouldn't boot)

I've tried mighty, juicy, and even going back to ssk. they all freeze loading at zero percent. hard reset does no good, soft reset does no good and when i try to flash to a new rom, the ruu indicates there is no rom installed as the previous. It gets into bootloader just fine; tri color screen claims "security unlocked" yet won't install anything. This is day three...i'm burnt out. If someone could point out a link to a rom other than ssk that runs on this hunk of junk please do, otherwise i'll just keep beating my head against this proverbial brick wall. thanks!

has nothing to do with the gimped phone. the reason most premade roms dont want to work is because the pagepool is set to high. start with a kitchen and make sure to adjust the pagepool down to 10 and they will all load as long as there made for a CDMA phone.

OP. download the basic rom from SSK(not the kitchen) save to a SD card and rename to RAPHIMG.nbh power off the phone. insert sd card. power up the phone and put in bootloader and let it do its thing.

oh, and there is a .cab for fixing the ## dialing codes.

Changing the pagepool to 10 does nothing, installations are still stuck at 0 percent. For any rom, I've tried haze, ssk, mighty and juicy...they are all a no go. I'm still stuck with this stupid stock verizon windows mobile 6.1 garbage...so tempted to hard reset this against a wall. Anyone else have any brilliant ideas?

I have had absolutely no luck with any suggestions. When I load to boot loader it says at the top "security unlocked"

I have tried loading roms via the RAPHIMG.nbh method. When I enter bootloader it goes directly to the tricolor screen with this info. Trying to run ruu always results in an error 262.

No answers here, but am having similar issues and frustrations. Did you just get a replacement? What does the sticker under your batery say? Mine is a newer replacement and says 12/12/2009. The diference with mine is that the RUU finishes and the unit tries to reboot, but only gets to the verizon scree. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=104247

I am wondering if they have changed something that would make us need a new HSPL or fix of some kind.
Anyway, in your case, I would try the unlocker again, and then try to flash original vzw rom, and then if that works try a custom rom again.

your phone isnt unlocked. see the post above mine where his says SPL-0.35.COMNEX? that means his phone is unlocked but yours isnt. thats why you cant get a custom rom to work.

I've been pm'ing everyone that may have insight into an issue I'm having, figured I'd try here too.

Bought a used tp (xv6850, verizon) running an ssk rom. I tried to take it to my carrier (metropcs); they told me they couldn't do anything with it because they couldn't access the data programming (##data# or whatever it is supposed to be for the tp, I've not been able to get any ##blank# commands to work at all) so I figured a different rom needed to be put on it. I studied cmonex's method, acquired all the necessary software, researched some more then tried loading mightyrom. After the rom was loaded, it would just hang at the verizon loading screen and...nothing. I could get into bootloader no problem so I read up on the "flash dance" and gave it a try. When I load bootloader it reads:

That doesn't help. At all. I'm well aware it's obviously not unlocked but it seems it's become unlockable. Trying to run cmonex's hardspl solution does nothing at this point...I'm stumped. If anyone else has something helpful to say, please by all means reply or pm me. Thanks.

to unlock the vzw refurb (been there with you lol) all 4 i received did the same as yours so try this since it worked for me

go to start menu>settings menu>connections menu>usb to pc menu> unchech the box under activesync that says faster file transfer


had to do that with every refurb,drove myself crazy like you trying to get it

That won't help. That only allows you to sync so that the RUU can pull up the bootloader. The problem is that from the bootloader, you cannot load a rom. I have been wrestling with this for days with nada success.

i don't believe you will get that rom to boot from what i recall,not vzw friendly and no longer being developed right??

So bottom line what is the best way to get more of these custom roms going on the verzon touch pro. SSK seems the most stable . Energy and rstg_tpro_21876G_Sense_v12 load but they are not stable

each person may have a different problem but having a vzw you need to set the pp to 6 before flashing thats why you find Energy and rstg_tpro_21876G_Sense_v12 unstable and why they were the only roms i used,you adjust and get your tweaking down you can run any rom and i say that because they all build stable roms (the ones cooking) none of that old outdated crap lol

Try unlocking the phone again. Then flash to stock. Maybe there was a bad flash on unlocking the phone? If you are successful with this, try NFSFAN's ROM here:
