No Video Display
Hi Guys, I just wanted to pick the brains of numerous other touch pro users, so over the weekend i dropped my phone, like literally 2-3 feet, and it was a soft drop onto a couch, and after that the video display stopped working. The phone works because it still makes the same noises when I boot it up, and when I press the power button the LCD does light up, like you know, that brighter shade of black, but the screen is just blank. Is there a way some cable is loose, or does anyone know what this could be? and how repairable this is, i don't have insurance through sprint so i was gonna try to do it myself if possible.

Re: No Video Display
Is it still under warranty? If it is, flash back to stock and re-lock. The same thing has happened to me. They had no problem replacing it with a refurb.
If it's not under warranty anymore, flash back to stock anyway and take it into a store. Sometimes they'll look at a phone regardless. If all else fails, you could take it apart and find whatever connection was broken, but it's never an easy feat. Good luck! |
Re: No Video Display
You can also use the video out cable to help see what you are doing as well.

Another option is to use MyMobiler. You can view your phone's screen on the PC via ActiveSync. It may be a little challenging setting it up with a blank screen. But it's worth the try. That worked for me when I cracked the screen on my Mogul 6800.

Re: No Video Display
Something happened to your device. I have a tp I am just using for a charger that has this issue. Bad esn and flashed to cricket, but have been tempted here recently to take to shop and see if they can fix it. I know a new screen and digitizer can be had on ebay for $60 bucks, but wonder what shop would say. Sucks since I bought it for 5 bills and cant sell it on craigs list for $50 as parts.
