Start Typing & Screen Jumps elsewhere?
 

Sometimes - when I start typing in response to a SMMS in editor, before I can get 1 word type the screen would jump & send me to contacts (if I am in the "To:" portion) or to another program list.

I searched but couldn't find any1 with this problem.

It sounds a lt like a hardware issue but it could also be a bad flash, assuming that you are using a rom other than stock, I'd reflash or even better try a flashdance and test it out. If the problem continues then it is likely that your device has a very serious issue related to some lose wire inside.

Similar issue -- have had it on 3 different TPs: New text comes in so I click on it to open it so I can reply, click to get the cursor in the send/type field and then slide open the phone to actually type.

Soon as I start typing, the phone switches to the phone menu and my text is treated like a contact or call history search. Very annoying. If I have text message application open, the cursor set to type and then open the keyboard, what twisted logic led to "hmmm, user must want to search their contacts and calls..."?

This started happening to a friend of mine (among other problems). We had to reflash it cause of the other problems, but the reflashing seems to have taken care of that issue too.....
