Determine Carrier by Phone #?
 

Is there anyway to determine a contacts carrier by their phone #? Trying to find out who I should be using Google Voice # to call and who I should just use my verizon # to call. If anyone knows, plz tell me. Thanks -- Arlind

If you ported your cell number to a different carrier, this site does not list your new carrier, it lists your original carrier.

No, this will not work. If you opened an account with ATT and later moved it to another carrier, it will still give you the previous carriers name. Many carriers now will issue you a number that may have belonged to another.

I concur! I just tried my cell number, and it was originally a VZW number, but I have switched to Sprint....It still showed me as having a VZW number. Oh well...

That's too bad, that site is otherwise pretty helpful.

On a similar but different note, has anyone tried CityID? There is a trial on my new rom, and it shows the city & state where the phone number is calling from. It's not entirely accurate with cell phones, but I guess it's good if you get a lot of unknown area codes or numbers.
