reboot looping

so i killed the battery dead i guess by leaving it not pluged in over night... i woke up to the sound of a buzz then a while later another buzz at 6 am >.< my phone was rebooting its self for no reasion. i have no idea whats going on... is it because of a low battery? when i try and just leave it pluged into my ps3s usb(because i cant find the power adapter) it is just rebooting forever T_T

it does as follows

red light on
BUZZZZT
HTC Touch Pro 2 logo
Mighty Rom logo
black with red light on
BUZZT
HTC Touch pro 2 logo
.... ect

i was messing with it and got it to show the windows screen is this a result of a really dead battery?

A hard reset isn't the same thing as flashing a ROM, and no, I would not attempt to flash a ROM with a low battery.

To perform a hard reset:
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the Talk and End keys first, and then press and hold the Power
button until you see the following message on the screen:

This operation will delete
all your personal data,
and reset all settings to
manufacturer default.
Press VolUp to restore
manufacturer default, or
press other keys to cancel.

2. Release the Talk key, End key, and Power button.
3. Press the Volume Up button to restore the device to factory default status.
– or –
Press any other front panel key to cancel the hard reset and just power on the device.

If after all of what you've done it's still doing that take it in to Sprint... Make sure to flash back to stock & re lock it

Re: reboot looping

You'll probably need to charge it off a wall charger for a bit. I had it happen to me and the only way I got it back was to charge it off a wall adapter. The USB port didn't have enough power to revive the phone.

Re: reboot looping

Do you have TEP or just the $4 insurance. If so just take it into a store, there is no need to know where you got the phone. As long as you got insurance they will fix it. Also, on your LAPTOP are you charging on the usb in the front/side of the computer? I have heard that the back of the computer the usb puts out more power than the side usb. I don't believe it, but you can always try, since you have tried everything else. Also when you plug it into the ps3/laptop are you letting it charge for 5-10 min before you try your phone? If not try that it may help.

Use the wall charger.. leave it off for about 30 minutes while charging.

USB/car chargers can't provide the power needed to get your phone running after a full discharge..

If it won't work after wall charging flash stock and take back to dealer.

Ok, you don't know. Now here are some questions..... Where did you "get your sprint plan". Next, on your bill do you see a $4 or $7 charge? Is the bill under your name or another persons. And how long have you had your TP2. If its less than 30 days than you can call Sprint and get it added, then take it in. If it has been past, and you were never offered it, call them up explain that you were never offered insurance when you got the phone and that you want it. Hopefully the rep will help you out.

Still think its a problem with getting the charge on it. Find the wall charger.

Not sure if this applies to all cars, but my cigar lighter is switched so whenever the car is turned off, the power to the cigar lighter also goes off.

Re: reboot looping

cant find the wall charger at all... left it pluged in to the ps3 all night i know its getting a full charge. because the device powers on its self when it reaches green. woke up to the buzzing of a loop pluged it back in after removing battery and 2 hours later same thing.

its getting a charge. the light turns red as it recives 5v from the usb. dose anyone have the wall charger to see what the voltage is that the wall charger gives off. (5v is the standered of a usb connection)if it was higher it would fry devices)

Re: reboot looping

nntb,

Sorry that you're having so much trouble with your TP2.

It looks like you need to send it to HTC for repair.

By the way, the wall charger on the TP2 does say 5 volts. My Garman GPS and Motorola Krazer also say 5 volts. One thing that seems strange is if I switch the wall cord or car cords between the Garman and the Motorola, I get an error message. Not sure if it'll charge correctly or not but I'll go ahead and get the correct cable out.

I had the exact same issue with the MIGHTY Rom I flashed to the device. I ended up having to send it in ater speaking with a few sprint reps. They replaced it for free for me since I was still under warranty.

good luck

First, I don't know if this works on the TP2, but it should it worked on the TP1. You don't need to unlock to flash the SHIPPED rom. Just grab the rom and flash it. RUU_Rhodium_W_Sprint_WWE_1.21.651.3_RS_1.96WF_NV_S PCS_1.42_0430_PRL60652_Ship.exe
