Custom Icons on a Custom rom
Hey whats going on everybody in ppc land. I just recently got my sprint touch pro 2 and im loving it! I recently attempted my first custom rom flash with success! Im running mighty mikes 6 custom rom released 11/25/09. So far no complaints except 1.. Nothing with the rom itself as far as stability. Ive been trying to customize the touchflo icons with no success. When I switched them on my touch pro weather it was by over writing the manila files or .cab install, everything was ok but that was on stock rom sprint. Now that im running a custom rom it wont work correctly. the files may override some but not all and the ones it does over write are messed up resulting in a hard reset (didnt have the original files backed up). i was wondering if there was something special or different I should do now that im on a custom rom to customize the tab icons with ones I like. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. just a fyi. I did see lil ricos work looks good but wanted to know were those my only options.

Here's are some that I posted: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=96239
This is the slider icons only! http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1258971241 And these Cleaned Icons: cab below One set for 2.1 the other for 2.5 Sense includes a transparent slider with icons http://a.imagehost.org/0893/Screen01.jpghttp://a.imagehost.org/0954/Screen02.jpg And there are more out there and they can be made to be whatever you want. It just requires a bit of work. |

Re: Custom Icons on a Custom rom
Just for the record, I should be looking for icon sets with what specifics? I mean what about these makes them work and others not? and is it possible to use the manila over write method or should I remain strictly .cab install?

Re: Custom Icons on a Custom rom
It comes down to what version of HTC Sense you are running, for the most part.
2.1 icons won't work on 2.5 and vice versa. The stock rom icons are also different altogether. So just make sure the ones you use are specific to your version of HTC Sense. You can just replace manila files. I would strongly suggest backing up the original file though first. However, I always try to make .cab files, so that if I give them to others, they can simply uninstall it like any other program and revert right back to default files. Hope that helps. |
