Crucial E-Mail Issues [Deleted emails, lost emails] TP2

READ THIS BEFORE POSTING
I am starting this thread to find a solution for deleted email issues. So, please add a comment only if it is professional and actually helps to resolve this problem. No smarta** comments or idiotic comments such as "If you don't like it, go make your own".

Problem Specification
Each time TP2 connects to server and downloads new emails previouse emails get deleted. If the option "Keep emails on server" is selected deleted emails are purged into the Trash folder on the server side. Otherwise, the emails are completely deleted from the server.
For those, who are dealing with important emails this is a HUGE problem. If the email client is set to check for new emails every 15 minutes and you are sitting in a 2 hr meeting and cannot check your phone all the time, you may never see an important email since it was deleted.

Additional Information

Phone 2 units of TP2. 1 with stock Sprint ROM and the other eith NRG Leo (all versions and dates tested)

Stoch Sprint ROM: Problem does not exist
NRG ROM all versions and dates: All have the same problem

To create the problem you need to have a private domain with access to the server. You use the option "other" when you setting up your email.

If you have this problem connecting to GMAIL please google it. Gmail problem is connected to Google's setup of IMAP and POP3.

If you are using an exchange server, the problem can be identical.

Test History
Have tested with ONLY one client on the phone running. No outlook from a PC has been connected.

Conciderations

Older NRG WM6.5 for TP1 did not have this problem. So we should probably exclude the WM6.5 issue.

Generally the email in the phone should not be deleted at all unless
1. You manually delete an email (therefore the choice to keep deleted emails on server or not)
2. You delete the email on the server directly by accessing the server or by using outlook or another client

Solutions such as changing the download size, changing the check server intervalls are not effective.

So I wounder if there is a registery setting somewhere that contains wrong value.

I have googled and found that the problem is not unique at all.

Thank you everyone for your efforts, research and solutions

Are you using pop3, imap, or exchange?
If you use imap you shouldn't have that problem.
I am using NRG's energyrom build 21864 with gmail using imap and have not experienced your issue.
Pop3 sometimes causes the problem you're describing.
What email service are you using?

Thanks for the response, I am using pop3 account on a Unix server. However as mentioned before the problem does not exist in Stock ROM (WM 6.1) or in TP1 Roms.

Im using pop3 for 3 different accounts, 2 work accounts and a personal and i use all 3 of these accounts on 2 pc's and my TP2 and have never had this issue. i have no idea whats going on here.

have you tried any other roms? the only time my email gets deleted is when i delete it on my pc, as i have removed it from the server.

I'm with Juggalo_X, I have 2 pop and imap and this never happens. Running 6.5

If anything, it sounds like a server issue.

This is odd indeed though. I honestly get about 50-100 emails a day between work and personal, used 2 pc's for them daily and my tp2 when ever im not at a pc. i have NEVER had emails go missing thank god.

Yeah it doesn't happen on stock, but he posts that it happens on NRG rom, so something with his rom is goofy...

If its mission critical for him.... try a new rom? .. solved.

I don't think its NRG's rom though, because I've been using all the different builds of NRG's roms since the unlocker was released and I've never had that problem. But I've only used imap with gmail.

I think apristel and Juggalo_X are right, sounds like a server issue.

The OP should try setting up a gmail or other imap account and see if he has similar issues. I think pop3 on his server aren't playing nice.
