Sprint HTC TP2 Internet Sharing/Tethering/Wifi Router sharing.
 

I got an HTC Touch Pro2 last month I'm on the sprint network. I've been looking for a way around the wifi internet sharing lockout or the Internet sharing via USB tethering lock out.

I've heard that some folks have found wifi router apps that will circumvent Sprints ROM and allow you to share your internet but I cant seem to find that thread. Been searching for about 30-40 minutes.

Also almost everywhere else I search the info is for the Touch Pro 1 like the registry edit.

Anyone have a proven method of doing internet sharing with this phone?

yes do registry hack plus cab and is working,,,try xda developers as well,,,

Hey, thank you for posting the link. I was trying to get this working with files from another forum, and could not get it to work. The link you posted worked the first time.

BTW, I am a new poster and new to HTC and Winmo devices, having used Palm and Blackberry for years. This WIFI app is easy to use and works great.

The program above works perfectly. One issue that I have is that the wifi connection can only be picked up by certain computers. Specifically, my Windows 7 laptop had no issues picking it up.

I had two identical HP laptops with WinXP, and they both were not able to detect the wifi connection. My other Nokia phone was able to see it and conect just OK

Any ideas on why these two identical PCs with XP not be able to identify the wifi connection? I didn't have a variety of WinXP computers to try them out unfortunately.

Many others on message bards have complained about this issue, but no one seem to know a solution

all i use is the modify IntShr.exe which i copy to windows and bam, phone as modem. i don't modify no registry, no other dlls, nada.

i already have PAM on my account so im not worried about anything else, but despite having phone as modem on my account i never could use the normal internet sharing app on the phone.

My Dell laptop running Windows XP was not able to find my Wifi Hotspot running on my Touch Pro 2...however, my Dell Inspiron 1764 running Windows 7 picked it up just fine. Not sure how to get the XP OS to identify the network using WIFI Router.

Check your wifi setting on the XP to make sure that you're looking for p2p not just APs.
