device not recognized. can't fix this problem...my tp2 worked fine with the rc version of win 7 ...now it is crapped out connecting with win 7 x64 works fine on a win 7 32 bit version though..any tips




update: (issue has been resolved)

really? works fine on my Win 7 Pro x64.
did you install the active sync software first?
try another usb port?

I'm using the same OS (RTM) and mine is working fine as well.

Check in your Device Manager and look under portable devices when you connect.
(You may have different or wrong drivers in place - see below post by Mike)

You could try plugging in your phone and selecting ActiveSync, then clicking on the windows (Start) button and right clicking on Computer then go to Manage and Device Manager. Uninstall anything in there you find related to Windows Mobile or your device (Usually under Network adapters, not sure if there is more). Afterward disconnect the phone and restart the computer for good measure, once the computer boots again try to connect. Windows should try to install the drivers again. Maybe something got messed up the first time you plugged it in.

Make sure you allow Windows to download the drivers, sometimes this can take awhile.

i tried them all...mabye the mobo is messed up with this win 7 release. i have a printer that works fine. but some thumb drives are n.g. strange issue.

Wow that is quite a fail, have you tried uninstalling any drivers associated with the device?

lol...someone out there must have willed this pos to work...good job....uninstalled some drivers and somehow it works....what a joke...:violent2:
