My guess would be that your best bet is to download and extract on Mac and then flash directly from the phone via SD card. Or you could skip the mac and do all three step directly from the phone. This is assuming you are already unlocked of course.

How about using a dual boot setup and do your flashing with Windows?

If you are going to go that route you would probably be better suited with VMware or Parallels. Although I can't comment on their use for flashing, this would seem like a more seemless solution if it works.

That's what i meant.. I dunno why i said dual boot.. I'm pretty sure that with using XP via VWmare, flashing wont be an issue

thanks for the input guys!

Re: Syncing with a Macbook?

I am a MAC user. So thought I'll give you some tips here.

Once you'll connect your TP2 with your Mac and choose Disk Drive from the options that it shows you on your phone, it'll mound your storage card onto your MAC's desktop. From there you can just drag the RHODIMG and then flash your phone using the SD card. (Its helpful to have the exe file in the root of your card to reset the phone in bootloader mode to make your task easier) Now this route is good enough as long as flashing ROMs and transferring files to your phone is concerned.

You can also install Windows XP or Vista or 7, whatever you choose using Parallels. The advantage you have doing that vs using Boot camp is that you don't have to reboot your computer to switch from Mac to Windows and it works great. Now while running Parallels, if you connect your phone to your Mac, it'll ask you, "Do you want to connect your device to the Mac or to Windows" If you choose windows here, everything would work just like you were using a PC. You'll be able to use Windows Mobile Device Center and sync your phone, flash, etc.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Welcome to the mac world..!!

Hi,

Try using The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile. I've been using it ever since I had my Wizard. It will sync contacts, music, video, allow you to install apps, sync your favorite bookmarks, and files.

www.markspace.com

2 other Windows Mobile Mac syncing apps are SyncMate, www.sync-mac.com and PocketMac, www.pocketmac.com. I am not familiar with them but list them to show you that there are options for a Windows Mobile user in a Mac environment.

i have a macbook, have had since the first week they came out. I usually just flash via the sd card because its easiest. I do also have xp and windows 7 running via parallels and most of the time the RUU fails when trying to flash, although parallels is good its not perfect, most of the kitchens fail to run. Boot Camp is a good way to go especially if you use windows alot as the parallels emulation is not perfect.

Love my mac always have, i work with windows every day (IT Manager) and my mac doesn't see half the problems of windows.

+1 for Missing Sync works very well i have started using the Microsoft my phone app now seeing as i flash so often its nice just to flash and run while its downloading all my txts and contacts.
