Am I the only one who found that navigating settings in WM6.5+ difficult?

After getting a tp2 with it's stock rom I remembered how easy it was to navigate the settings area on the 6.1 roms. I love 6.5 but have never been able to navigate the settings area well. Seems that everything was just missing or hidden.

This is one of the main reasons why I havent updated the rom yet. The other is the obvious fact that it isn't going to be nearly as reliable. Nothing worse than a frozen phone when you need it most.

what are you talking about????? Its the same, except in sense UI the first settings takes ya to tfo settings, then from there hit all settings, then everything is in the same folders for the most part, Ya have system setting just like before, personal like before, and now a connections one, and a few others, very easy to me....

System and Personal? Seriously? Every rom that I tried on my tp had the in different areas. Only the connections would be similar if it was even there. The all setting area would be nearly empty. I remember not even being able to find the power icon in the settings in the last rom that I used for my tp1.

I have tried 4-5 different roms. Initially I had some issues. But if you are going to try different roms you should expect that. I am back to Mighty Rom and most roms have the same setup... so it really isn't that bad.

I'll be honest, it threw me off the first few times because I had been using the old layout for the past 5 years. But if its a real issue, try using a white background for your today screen, it made me feel more at home :D

I agree. I just flashed back to 6.1 for warranty and, to be honest, I find the settings are easier to find and better laid out.

And, I don't know why, but it seems much much faster than MightyRom. Which seems uncharacteristic.

6.1 is easier to find settings and programs 6.5 has all these folders you have to look through there needs to b a app that easily drag and drop apps into desired folders

I really think it depends on the ROM that you are using. I'm using Cfays and I hit the Start icon and the settings icon is right there. I hit that and the Personal, System and Connections icons are there. Pretty simple. Not downplaying your experience at all, but maybe you've just picked a ROM where the chef set things up to their on personal liking instead of making things generic.

I think it was Mighty's ROM that had on these different colored folders in the start menu and THAT was hard to navigate. Maybe try Cfays, it's pretty bare bones and very stable.

thats all ya have installed????? No games, no cool apps like coreplayer, wifi router, total commander etc......

Seems pretty bare and the real test is when ya got 60 cabs installed like me, I get good speeds and no lockups, Official 6.5 baby....

I think what your confused with in different locations is the Manila. Theres 2.1 and 2.5.

2.5 is wayyyy better. Your probably used to 2.1 which is simple. Each version of windows build has it's own settings as well. It's all a matter of preferences. I like trying the newest even with the quirks. Try it send the guy a note on whats broken, they come out with a higher version & the other stuff fixed.

This isnt for the shy person though. means a lot of resetting your info, but hey.
