Need help with Weather clock

I'm currently using energyrom but the last tweak I wanted to make to it was to change the weather clock to white panels(Just like mightyrom has). I've looked all over ppcgeeks and xda and havent founf any clock that actually works. I'm guessing it's cus the clocks im finding are not weather clocks.

Anyways is there a cab that will change the energyrom clock to white?
thx in advance

edit:srry I realized I posted in the wrong area after i clicked submit. Thanks for the move!

I wish I knew. I've wondered the same thing.

I've been looking for that too... the answer is there is no solution yet.

Re: Need help with Weather clock

really?
is it because the weather clock cannot be changed like the old manila clocks with just a cab?

I don't think so. I have found cabs that remove the black bar behind the weather, as well as cabs that remove the actual tabs of the flip clock. These probably is a solution but the people with the know how don't seem to be actively working on a solution.

Re: Need help with Weather clock

Are you using Leo or Photon? I think I still have the stock B/W flip clock manila files from the MightyROM I can cab up and post for you then if that is the one you want and it's for Manila 2.1. I'm not sure if the files would be compatible between Manila 2.5 and 2.1, but I could still post it if you'd like to try it anyway.

I'm using Photon 21864

It may be a little bit before I have time to make a cab and post it, potentially not until Sunday, but I will do so then.

Re: Need help with Weather clock

No problem, thanks for the help. :)

If anyone else has another cab that we could try in the meantime, pls post it here, in case imnuts clock doesnt work well with energyrom.

It so weird that there's so little information in terms of customizing this manila clock when previous were(TP 1, diamond) customized to hell and back. Anyways, thanks again.

I don't have the same rom as you, but I have the weather clock and this worked on my phone. It just changes the clock flippers or tabs or whatever you call them to white.

Hope it helps.

Oh and here's the manila names for those four files

456da6c4_manila
7be8b171_manila
14e89810_manila
251edfbd_manila

Can this cab be uninstalled if it doesn't work?

Yeah, I just tested that too.

Do you know how to change the color of the actual numbers in the clock to black? The cab changed the tab to white, but the numbers are still white (the default color in the rom).

Re: Need help with Weather clock

Yeah, I'll make you a new cab. I didn't realize that you had white numbers, lol. Sorry, just give me a couple of minutes to cab it and test it.

I just installed and uninstalled this one successfully, so it should be good. The manila for the numbers is 62e5f1b5_manila.

Wow thanks! That totally does the trick (for EnergyRom 21864 Manila 2.1). How did you edit those files? Is there anyway to make one cab with all 5 files?

Thanks!

jollyschwa 11-20-2009 09:54 PM

Re: Need help with Weather clock

That one's actually got all 5. I got the weather clock manila files from SSK's kitchen.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=92003

And I use CFC GUI Manila Editor to change the files.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470798

Then quickcab to create the cab. 2.0 doesn't seem to work on my computer, but 1.0 works fine.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400221

I'm kind of new to this stuff myself, but it's actually fairly easy to learn.

No problem, I've actually been wondering which files were for the weather clock, just hadn't had a chance to look into yet.

There are actually 7 files for the clock, 4 of them for the background (2 top and 2 bottom), 1 file for the numbers, and 1 file each for AM/PM designation. I've cab'd up all of them from the MightyROM for anyone that would still want it, however, I haven't tested it out, but it should work. If it doesn't work and people would still want it, I can recreate it, but it will have to wait until tomorrow as I don't have anyway to really troubleshoot any issues ATM. I also have a clock that people can download that is a black background with white numbers over here.

For anyone that needs to know, here are the files:

14e89810_manila
251edfbd_manila
3504625a_manila
456da6c4_manila
5801c3c9_manila
62e5f1b5_manila
7be8b171_manila

Re: Need help with Weather clock

I didn't realize am and pm were separate from the background tabs, thanks for pointing that out. I wonder why they did it that way.

santod 11-21-2009 02:21 PM

Re: Need help with Weather clock

So that the AM/PM could be seperate from the background. If you don't want a background, you can still have the AM/PM floating with nothing behind it. It also can be changed that way to any color, easier.

jollyschwa 11-21-2009 02:57 PM

Re: Need help with Weather clock

That's interesting, I like it better this way, but you could still do all that before.

japper88 11-21-2009 05:37 PM

Re: Need help with Weather clock

I tried using CFC GUI, how do you change the colors of the clock files once you open up the Manila files in CFC GUI?
EDIT: never mind I figured it out, thanks again jollyschwa
I never noticed that AM/PM wasn't changed, but not a big deal for me because I use 24hour time anyway.

Re: Need help with Weather clock

Well, you must first export the manila file from CFC GUI an a .PNG file(image file). Then open the image with an image editor, such as Photo Shop Pro, Gimp, etc,... Then in the image editor, you can adjust the color, morph the image, etc,... Then save the image with the same manila name, still as a .PNG. Then with a program, such as Mode9 Editor, you can reconvert the images back to .manila files. Then with a program, such as QuickCab, you can use the modified manila files to create your .cab file.

Not as simple as just editing the image in CFC GUI. Wish it was. Although this method works well and gets easier with practice.

There is another way of changing the files without having to create a .cab for it, although it's then not installable. You would have to replace the modified manila files with the original to revert back.

Hope this helps and if you would like further info, let me know, or PM me if you want. Just trying to help, not trying to butt in.

Thanks, I'm new to editing manila, any help is appreciated. How do you create a cab in a way that makes it uninstallable?

santod 11-21-2009 06:31 PM

Re: Need help with Weather clock

QuickCab will do this for you.

japper88 11-21-2009 06:46 PM

Re: Need help with Weather clock

Okay, cool thanks. I've used quickcab before to make registry edits but I wasn't sure it the uninstall part would work for manila files.
