There are two basic ways to do it.
  1. Convert from the DVD
    • I use DVDFab, but there are a few free ones out there
  2. Convert a downloaded file
As far as playing them on your device, I recommend TCPMP(Free) or Coreplayer ($$$)

Why use those? If you're going to encode them yourself, put them in MP4 format and use the HTC default player. It'll play smoother thanks to hardware acceleration, which TCPMP and Coreplayer lack

I agree.

CorePlayer is nice (I use it too) but it does NOT give the hardware accelleration that Album & WMP do.

CP works super with a stock 6.1 ROM but if you flash to a 6.5 ROM (I have used both Mighty & Juicy) then the video out is unuseable but WMP & Album work fine.

I use CuCusoft Video convertor to encode my DVD movies to h.264 (mp4) files & I get absolutely perfect playback (even with video out) using WMP or Album.

I am running Juicy R3 and HTC video player is not in the programs and does not run when I try to run the file from the windows directory. I will have to look into that.

Although I have a video out cable I never really used it. I will try when using WMP or HTC video player.

I rent them from Blockbuster for $.99, copy them & return them.

Then I rip the copy to my 16 gig card.

Can you send me a pm also? I assume this is referring to how to get the movies.
