Hard spl question...
 

I have switched over from the diamond to the tp2 on verizon and im loving it so far. That was untill i looked into the hardspl so i could flash custom roms not update radios and to my suprise one of the reqiurements is an internet connection. Well my only source of internet is tethering and this is new to me i have unlocked an omnia diamond and vogue with no internet required. So my question is could i use my girls omnia as a substitute to tether internet when i unlock my tp2, ot is there a way around the internet required part? Any help would be great cant wait to start flashing roms this is the only thing holding me up.

I've heard you can tether and do this and it will stay connected to the internet long enough to do what it needs to do and then unlocks the phone for you. If you wanna risk it go ahead. I have not personally done it but once it goes into bootloader to unlock you don't have internet so it has to do it before it goes into bootloader and you will be connected up until then.

I guess i will have to try thanks... So worst case scenario i wont end up with an un useable phone right? It just wont go through with the unlock?

The program is using an Internet connection to confirm that you're not unlocking multiple phones. I'm sure if you have Internet, no matter how, that once it verifies the license stuff it won't care anymore and will run the unlock regardless of Internet state. Just my opinion / thoughts.
