Need help getting my MSL TP2

Hello Everyone..

Hope someone can help me out. I bought the CDMA workshop real legit copy straight from their site so that I can try and get the MSL code to program my phone, but dont know how to work the software. I managed to pull some security files, but it is in a .bin file I believe.

Someone also said there is a way to get MSL through looking at root files, but not sure where to look when they say root files?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have this nice phone and cant do anything to it.

How to get your MSL on your touch pro

Change the following registry entries in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\ATDbgLog
Enable: 1
LogMode: 1

* Wait a about 10 minutes (more time will not hurt), and soft-reset.

* Check to see that the file \Atlog\ATDbg0.txt has been created.

* Return the values back to what they were (most likely 0) waiting the same amount of time as above.

* Look in the ATDbg0.txt file and you should see a log of commands sent to the CDMA radio and there should be something like this somewhere in the file:

~~~~~~~~~~~SNIP~~~~~~~~~~~~
00:00:00 Tx:AT+HTC_RMSL=0\r
00:00:00 Rx:+HTC_RMSL: (###THIS WILL BE THE MSL###)\r\n0\r
00:00:00 Tx:AT+HTC_ROTKSL=0\r
00:00:00 Rx:+HTC_ROTKSL: 123456\r\n0\r
~~~~~~~~~~~SNIP~~~~~~~~~~~~

The numbers next to the Rx: +HTC_RMSL line should be your MSL

I did the above and it works. You really only need to wait one solid minute to ensure the logfile entries are written. The MSL is a 6 digit number.

I think I seen this post as well, but I could not for the life of me find this ATlog file..

Where exactly do I find this? I am using file exlorer that is built into the phone..or do I need a better one like REsco?

Did you say you bought the CDMA workshop so you can GET the MSL?

you can get it for free!!

If you use the file explorer that came with the phone, check "show all files" if you don't see it or use a better explorer like total commander or resco.

Thanks again Strrrr and Juggallo...

JUggallo your method is a bit more difficult for your average Noob... this other method however works like a charm...

I finally found that dang log file. The log file was long....it was in total commander right there.. I dont recall seeing it when I was looking through file exlorer...

Thanks again to you both an asset to the forums.

I have a real version of CDMA workshop that I just bought but finding the MSL is not that easy on that either. I can get the security files but it comes in a .bin file I believe that I can't open..

i believe ATLog is a system folder by default and therefore hidden by file explorer. resco or tc is the way to go :)

my method isn't difficult :P i gave you the master HTC MSL code ;)

mine was the easiest one.... now i forget if CDMA Workshop allows for none numeric characters in the MSL field... but at any rate QPST always take the master unlock code for me :D

Re: Need help getting my MSL TP2

the epst will only take numeric characters, so you need to get in there for programming, the master msl won't work.

wow...that was so above me... what master lock code? I thought you were giving me a key word to the topic it lead me to... there wasn't any talk of a master code there.

I tried ot get my SPC code on CDMA but it wasn't that easy. I went through the Universal RAM method and then it found 6 codes but it put it in some file with a .bin extension that I couldn't read.

Was there an easier way with CDMA W that I'm missing?
