Carrier specific Roms

Here in the CDMA forum, you'd think that you could use the roms on your CDMA phone...but that's not entirely true. Wouldn't it be nice if the roms for the Sprint phones where their own director and the same for the Verizon HTC TP2. Just asking

the people that do the development of these bust their asses to try and get all this stuff to work in general. If you dont want to take the time to cook your own ROM or find carrier specific cabs to tweak your phone maybe you shouldn't unlock it...i heard flip phones are cool :violent2:

Here in the CDMA forum, you'd think that someone who joined the forum this month, would do just a little reading to understand things a little bit before posting something that doesn't make sense in a section where it doesn't belong. Just asking.

Most roms are tested on sprint and may be general but still tested mostly on sprint - conflipper used to made great stuff for alltel generic but still easier for alltel - I use mighty on Verizon and got it going fine but i see most of te stuff is redy to go for sprint - and those users may not have ad to add alot to get it working rigt out the gate - legitimate question - and I guess i am still a lurker but ave been flasing tese roms for a while now ans since the tp2 I see XDA opinionated folks here - it would be awesome to have carrier specific rom sitting ready if a hard reset was needed on the fly or away from your pc or in a time crunch.

sure but its was the concept of -the cook is testing everything on their network prior to letting it out to test on other networks - I use mighty rom on my tp2 and see alot of questions carrier specific. Just think this is a legitimate question and I by no means can cook my own rom and appreciate all the work here -but i still think its a good question even if verizon puts out a tp2 rom upgrade I will still use mighty because of all the stuff they pack in all their un needed stuff. it would be nice to know if I had to hard reset - after boot i would be off and running with out to much effort - currently have mighty 10.29 working awesome and backed up so not a problem here but still comfort food
