Could folks please add the ROM they use to their signature !!!

I see so many posts of problems and fixes but I think they apply to different ROMs.

It would be really nice to see the context from each person because I think some folks are assuming context and it's getting confusing.

not a bad suggestion, IMO.
Problem is, not everyone updates their profile sig as often as they flash roms around here...
Plus, the signature in dynamic and will change if they change it in the future- so, if someone reads a thread a week later, and the OP has moved on to another rom, the NEW sig is what will appear, and that might just create a big mess.

It's probably easier to write which rom someone is using in the post, or at least in the title so that it is searchable.

I see your point, but most threads are relative to "today" any way.

I think it's too much to ask to post which ROM you use in each thread.

I think most would find it very helpful. I see it used in other forums for other toys as well.

I completely agree. It is a good idea, but many people read threads much later than originally posted. It would be misleading to depend upon inaccurate info. I often look at the posters carrier to see if they have Sprint or Verizon, to see how applicable the information is to me. Especially considering how often ROM's are flashed. I still think this is a good idea, but don't see an effective solution.

best way is for people to note rom and carrier in the post if they have a problem.

People get lazy.

Putting it in sig isn't perfect but "in it's prime" it will work fine.

If you are switching ROMs daily then just say that in the Sig (or which family of ROMs you like to use). No biggy. Just give some context of the type of user you are.

I really think it will help.

If folks see you moved onto a new phone they will figure it out that it's no longer applicable (no worse than it is now with nothing). But that will be a long time from now (6 months+ most likely). Forum information moves in time just like your phones.

Man, I flash so much I wouldn't even be able to keep up. Right now on Juicy R3 and I will stay with it for a while but before that I flashed everything except those unknown or unproven chefs.

The more I think about this, the worse of an idea it seems, actually.

I wrote the first tutorial on flashing an HTC Titan. That phone is 2 generations old, and people STILL are flashing it. I have people reading threads and fixes/questions I wrote years ago. Plus, most users here do not keep a rom for 6 months... especially the type that are posting about having problems.

Heck my sig still lists my old blog that I barely write for (now I write for mopocket.com), and everytime I see it I think- hey, I should update that. You really think people who are too lazy to explain their problems in the thread title or body will keep their sigs up to date?

For what? Cars? Stereos? Laptops? Even carriers and phone models last longer than ROMs. Just my opinion, but with the sheer number of ROMs and the way many of the folks here go through them like toilet paper (some guys flash more than one in the same day), it just seems like something that will never catch on.

If *you* wanted to do that, by all means go for it- you'll probably make sure to keep it up to date and therefore it will be effective. But I've been around this scene long enough to just don't see it becoming an accepted practice round these parts.
