SMS Timestamp

Well, since I couldnt seem to get an answer in the rom thread, and searching for anything related to SMS gets you a good chunk of the forums, ill ask here.

The last two custom roms I have used (SSK3 and Juicy) I have noticed a problem with the timestamps in SMS messages.

The first message that comes in gets timestamped 3 hours in the future, and usually one other message in the thread gets the same, but all my outgoing messages are timestamped properly. The result is that the messages in the thread get jumbled out of order.

Since it has happened in two different roms, both of which were using Manilla 2.5, I am assuming its an issue with the 2.5 messaging system. Has anyone else run into this error and/or found a solution.

I like Manialla 2.5 because of the today screen shortcuts, and the grid contact favorites.

Thanks

Re: SMS Timestamp

I've seen that others are getting messages that aren't displaying the time correctly and it's changing the time zone to something different. These people usually live in a non-EST/EDT time zone, like Pacific or Mountain. Are you in a non-Eastern timezone as well?

Re: SMS Timestamp

Definitely sounds like a Time Zone issue.

I assume these are all new messages, not restored?

You could try this regedit and see if it helps:
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\TrustTimeZoneField= 0]

Or possibly this regedit:
[eg. "RecvTimeStamp" in HKLM\Software\OEM\SMS\RecvTimeStamp =0] does not exist, create it [as a DWORD]

I am in the Eastern Time Zone, and yes they are new messages. I checked the timezone on my phone, and it is set correctly.

Re: SMS Timestamp

to clarify: i have tp2 on juicyR4. i txt to a diamond on stock rom. we live in panama city (central time) but if we drive east 2 hrs we are in eastern time.
i send txt to diamond-shows me its correct time
that same message is received on the diamond 1hr fast (as in eastern time)
the diamond sends txt to me- it shows (diamond) correct time
that same message shows on my phone as 1hr fast (eastern time)

hope that makes since, i read around that its doing that cuz its pulling off of 2 times, 1 is your phones time (which is y the sent is correct) an 2 it pulls the recieved off cell towers which in my case (of on time zone line)
