Internet Sharing (Tethering)
Ok I experienced the weirdest thing today. Not sure what is going on but all day today I had been tring to to do the Internet Sharing and I kept on getting the Data Call Failure. Error Code 67 Registration Failure. I tried resetting my device. Went over to the registry and saw that somehow my registry setting had changed bakd to Phone as Modem as opposed to Sprint. Also I noticed a new folder there named STATUS Not sure whats going on but I used CeRegEditor and changed the registry keys again and deleted the STAUS folder but to my surprise after I changed the required RegKeys and saved the registry went back to check the reg keys and it was back to Modem as phone and the Status registry folder came back. Anyone else having this problem after doing a PRL update, Profile update, and firmware update. That is the last thing I did before this problem started. I have stock ROM. So now no more internet sharing. Anyone with any insight??

Re: Internet Sharing (Tethering)
try searching the forums first
Tethering - tested and works 1 - using file explorer go to Windows\Start Menu\Programs - delete internect connection sharing 2 install - ICS_and_WModem_Fix cab 3. using a regedit program [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] Extension="" Delete the "isext.dll" entry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings] ForceCellConnection="Sprint" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] MaxCMCon=0 [HKLM\Services\CMGuardian] Flags = 4 (it's a DWORD Value. if it doesn't exist. you need to create it) 4 - soft reset 5 - Start the Internet Sharing application. 6 - Select Sprint under type of connection. 7 - Hit Connect In the Internet Sharing application. 8 - Connect to the Laptop/PC via USB 9 - Done. No other applications needs to run on the PC/Laptop. |

Goesn't give bluetooh in dropdown list directly from Internet sharring, but just go to BT, divices that U R paired with, choose the PC U synced with and choose bluetooth networking. It will ask if U want to set up[ private network or internet sharing. Just choose internet sharing. works like a charm. Make the following changes on your TP2 with a Registry editor: 1. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] Extension="" Delete the "isext.dll" 2. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings] ForceCellConnection="Sprint" 3. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\Wmodem] Check Profile=0 Connected=0 Multi-NAI=0 WModemDUN=0 4. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WIDCOMM\Plugin\DUNServ er\ControlPanel] Enabled=1 |
