XDA UC for rom customization
 
hello all, i was wondering if someone would take the time to help me out...my question is this, WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THIS (XDA UC) AND HOW DO YOU USE IT???? im not new to windows, but i am new to flashing roms and i have no idea what this is used for or how to use it...ive read the thread at xda but it looks like greek to me...can someone take a few minutes to explain in laymans terms what it does??? thanks in advance

after you get it installed, make a folder on sd card called XDA_UC and put all your games,apps,xml files ect in the folder then after flash you run the app and all your goodies get loaded for you.juicy has it cooked in his rom.

ahhh, a lil more clear...couple more questions tho..does the folder i create need to include the underscore (_) or just a space...and also, when u say put all of my games and apps in it do u mean the cab files??? sorry for sounding like a total noob, but im kinda lost on some things..thanks again

cab files etc. stuff you want automatically installed if/when you flash a new version of the rom. (which wipes everything out you install...)

Energy uses it too... its a lifesaver if you have to hard reset and dont want to reinstall all of that stuff one by one. Just throw it all in that folder and everything installs on its own during phone setup. Now if I could just figure out a way to get the shortcuts to go into the folders I want them to when it does it... but I guess thats asking too much lol

I think you can put some scripts in there to do that... could be wrong.

im pretty sure your correct. op, yes you need the underscore. folder should read just as i typed it, caps and all.

is energy using xda uc or sdconfig txt? there not the same. i was looking through his threaddand xda isnt listed but the config one is.
