Anyone using Sprint Pro 2 w/ Korean?

I've used Diopen 7 w/ Diamond.
But w/ Touch Pro 2, it works ok except 3 major problems (that I've noticed so far):
1. Sync Error (I need to sync w/ outlook and it doesn't work)
2. Hotmail doesn't "send/receive"
3. Live Search doesn't load (error comes out...but when diopen deleted, it works fine)

So I've tried Diopen 5 & 6 respectively but have other problems too.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

**Right now I'm using Energy ROM (6.5) but when using Stock ROM I had more serious problems (errors & having to hard reset time to time...)

I used the korean font cab from the link above and it doesn't look like I have problem like you have with diopen. Down side is there is no input, and it reads korean websites fine, but it only reads certain MP3 titles in my storage folder, and not sure how to fix that.

Anyways, I think it's pretty good free korean support.

Oh I have to mention this. Once you install it, it's there for good lol. It won't show on your installed programs, but it's there... eheh I know because I can still read korean on korean websites after uninstallation.

Is your HTC music player able to recognize some of the Korean fonts or is this only via folder explorer/windowsmobile media player. I just want the HTC music player (the one from the touchflo3d/manila 2.1 slide bar) to display the Korean names of songs. Anyone have any luck with that?

Yes, for both windows, and HTC music tab, but not all songs though. I think only selected font styles may be?

When I installed those Korean fonts, it messed up my Chinese fonts, I guess the two don't play nice. Does anyone know how to get Korean, Chinese, and Japanese fonts to all play nice in WinMo6.5 on the Touch Pro 2?

I have other cabs that I have which I haven't tried.
Give them a try if you want, and let me know if you try it.

None of those worked for me...
I was able to get Chinese to work for my TP2 flawlessly, there much be an equivalent solution for Korean!

Wish MS would have built in support like Windows 7 (Chinese/Korean just comes working unlike XP or Vista)

I have mine reading Korean by tweaking the registry as below:

1. go to [HKLM/Software/Microsoft/FontLink/SystemLink]
2. then add this line. Tahoma = \windows\fonts\malgun.ttf,Malgun Gothic

Another thing you have to do is to add actual "malgun.ttf" font file to the \windows\fonts directory. Do a soft reset and you are good to go. As for the Korean songs to appear corectly, the file itself have to be UTF-8 compliant. Otherwise, it will show as broken. Newer songs are compliant but some of my older Korean songs arent....

I have attached malgun.ttf file. You can use use your fav program to add registry.

Good luck.

Re: Anyone using Sprint Pro 2 w/ Korean?

If anyone is interested, I found a program that gives you simultaneous Chinese/Japanese/Korean font and input support. It's not cheap, but there is a free trial:
Effy-CJK 4.0 (Chinese/Japanese/Korean/English) Fonts included 4.0
(link has some info about the program and a download link)
I'm trying it right now, now all my Chinese/Japanese/Korean mp3s titles etc. are displaying correctly in the HTC music player (touchflo3d interface) and in windows media player and the file explorer.

Hey guys,
I want to stream korean music or radio or something of that sort on my phone. Any apps, website, or anything that you guys recommend?

Re: Anyone using Sprint Pro 2 w/ Korean?

For input i wold reccomend using Moakey by Samsung, it is what they use for their windows mobile phones in South Korea.

For seeing all the characters i would reccomend trying to find a gulim.tff font that is fully packed cab that basically completely replaces most of the windows mobile text in the system.
Ill try looking for this cab and will edit later

Edit:
Awesome, while researching i found a xda topic with a bunch of info for individual or multi asian language support. Have fun!! ^^
