Re-flash again and start fresh.
Right after you have finished the installation of the new rom. Immediately do an clear storage data. After that is done, then go ahead and customize your phone according to your needs again. It should be fine. GL.

Bizarre! Have you tried setting up a new account and only adding that one? That would confirm if it's something to do with the account / mailbox, versus the device.

EDIT: I just re-read your OP and it looks like you made some amendments to it. This seems to be related to the POP server connectivity, as you say it does not happen when the mailbox is empty -therefore it can't really be message corruption. Anyway you can set up an account with a different POP server / provider?

Not too sure if pop3 nor imap are the problems here, but you can certainly try to set them up differently this time around. The default setup is for imap, but there is a way to trick it...

Yeah I'm using POP3 with hotmail and a work pop3 and I don't get that phantom stuff, so if you are connecting to an work pop3 or something different, maybe they offer imap instead of pop3 and you could use that and maybe not get the phantom window.

Could it be Yahoo and the imap it sets up when it autofinds settings??

this has happened to me about twice alot of times it is unnoticeable so it probably has happened and people dont notice it..it is not a big deal to me didnt happen on my tp1,only happened few times since hspl release.mighty rom btw

I know that right now it is set up as imap by default when using Yahoo which is my primary and only used e-mail account on the phone.

I guess it would be helpful to know what set up the others who posted they were having, or had experienced, similar issues used e.g. were they using yahoo with imap too???

happens to me too. Im using windows live to push my live email. I bet that is the problem


this has also happened to me on almost every rom since the tp1, so im betting its the windows live
