If displaying chinese characters is your only need, then install "sunglobe.cab"
If you want chinese input, install BOTH "PlumSIP Pro VGA V6.1.0008.cab" and "uhei00m-gray.cab"
soft reset your device after installing.
hope it helps.

Hi, Danny,

What is the file "uhei00m-gray.cag" for? I first installed the sunglobe, then the PlumSIP Pro. After these two files, the Chinese input worked without any problem. To this day I still haven't installed "uhei00m-gray". What is it for?

Any one had any luck sending Chinese text messages over Sprint's network? Email in Chinese worked fine. Text in Chinese came in as "_______".

if you are on Sprint, uheim00m cab works the best. No conflicts on texting to other providers. I had tried CE-Star and Sunglobe, I couldnt text to Verizon and T-mobile users.

Lou,

Were you successful in sending text messages in Chinese on Sprint's network?

Thank you!

sorry I meant you can text in English with the uheim00m cab. you cant even text in English to a different carrier if you installed other chinese font .

Lou, I don't think that's true. I installed sunglobe font, I can text fine in English to any other phones.

Chinese SMS doesn't work, within Sprint or any others.

To use the CAB's listed here..YOU HAVE TO REMOVE any previous versions of sunglobe CE etc

depending if you want to keep it in chinese mode or english mode.....everytime you switch to whichever mode you want to keep as default...you must turn ur phone off and turn it back on to keep it

Well here's the situation... to my understanding, CDMA networks will convert your text into unicode and sometimes (usually it does) breaks the non-Unicode language such as Chinese.

However as for travel aboard... well when I was in China, I had the CE-Star installed and I can send/receive text in Chinese over the GSM network just fine. However when it comes to CDMA, doesn't matter if it's in the States or outside, non-Unicode text simply won't do.

And I suggest you purchase the CE-Star, unless you know need to use handwriting input otherwise the Standard version will do. Gives you support for Japanese too.

.cab files can be downloaded directly to the phone, then click on it and will install. Or you can download them to your computer, then transfer them to your phone to install.
