Some sound notifications not working :-(

I just recently noticed that my ringer isn't working. Nor are a lot of other notifications. In fact, the only sound/notification working is the IM+ message received sound. When on the notification tab, I press OK and it doesn't let me close the window. Anyone seen this before?

Have you tried a Hard reset?

Of course not. That's why I'm posting on here! I haven't needed to hard reset since I got my TP2 in August and I want to keep it that way!:laughing6:

It goes without saying that you've tried a soft reset, so what apps or tweaks might you have installed? Can you back track and remove them one by one to see if one of them is causing this? Any other programs not closing when you tap the OK?

Re: Some sound notifications not working :-(

I haven't noticed anything else, but I'm going to try and uninstall apps that I think are less important than my notifications, with consideration of the time-table that I noticed this problem.

Sometimes posting on here, people have had similar issues before and it's already been addressed.

On another note, when I received a call from my friend this morning, it did still vibrate and announce the caller via TTS, which I'd rather have than my ringer anyway. Just need those sound notifications for SMS and MMS messages now!

Do you have "CMYLXGO's Black Dialer Skin" installed ? I had this same problem and after mutiple hard reset and testing found this to be my problem. I have posted in that forum for an answer but no response yet.

I don't have this installed but I am getting to the the root of the problem. I can play wav files fine as sounds/notifications. But I cannot play wma or mp3 files in there. I've tried changing their default programs, but they just won't play. Any ideas?

Sounds like you've inadvertently disassociated some media from internal media player that fires audio events. I did this accidental when I first got my mogul. It took me 2-3 hard resets before I figured it out.

It can be restored with registry edits, but alas it was almost 3 years ago. Perhaps someone can jump in here?

I'd kill for a restore default cab for the audio stuff...
