Do u think there is a way?
 

I got a refurb tp2 in place of my tp1 from Sprint. But, mine did not come with the sim card. I now have this annoying white icon at the top of the screen. Do you think Sprint will send me one? Or is there any way to get rid of this? Do i really need one?

You don't NEED one unless you are going out of the country. But it's worth a try... Call sprint or better yet. Go into a corporate store they usually are the most helpful.

u dont need one unless u plan on having a second provider to the phone! that provider has to be gsm(once u unlock the sim) check here for more info

so, say you bought the phone from Sprint at full price and are not under a contract. Can you unlock the phone and then jump over to t-mobile GSM networks?

its actually an icon. it looks like a miniature sim card with an x in the top left corner of it. it is in place of my signal bars.
