Very impressed with HTC predictive text and portrait keyboard
I am pretty impressed at the way the predictive text works when I use the portrait keyboard. I have been texting a bunch today with it and it seems to make very few errors, even when I don't even try to hit the exact letter I was looking for.
makes me think that the soft keyboard on the HD2 would be more than satisfactory...if only we could get it. |

I agree, the huge screen makes texting with the software keyboard leaps and bounds better than the touch pro1. I am finding it a hassle to use the hardware keyboard these days... hopefully we will see the hd2 soon!

A lot better than the TP, but still the TP2 is not wide enough to type comfortably in portrait mode with my big hands.

is there an option that calibrates your keyboard to the way you type like the hero? |
Re: Very impressed with HTC predictive text and portrait keyboard
I find that in portrait I get the best results by just using one index finger and just moving it as fast as I can. The auto-correction takes care of any missed or incorrect keystrokes. YMMV

HD2... Might just be wide enough for me.

Yea, the TP2 wider screen (it is definitely wider than the TP) is totally awesome for portrait texting IMHO.
The new soft KB is really nice, but I still prefer TouchPal 3.5 myself. I can type insanely fast with TP using T+ technology (much faster than anybody could type using the hardware KB). ~John |
