Oftem rom flashers..user customizition?
 

I belive i saw a program ones where you can save all your cabs/settings into a file so everytime you flash a rom, all your settings/programs would autoinstall/configure. Could someone please point me in right direction?

its not a cab what it is , its a text file that you put into your storage card on the first level of the storage card so that you have your program cabs that you want to install, Install every time you flash. i will give u a example of mine

so that everytime i flash my leo or photon rom it installs these programs with all the installs that it does on first installation of every thing

You can use that if the rom you're flashing has UC, otherwise, try Sashimi

how do i automate the configuration of

1. activesync exchange to use google contacts & calendar
2. imap settings for gmail

Most newer roms will use runCC

there are a few things you guys should note about your sdconfig.txt, file names and file attributes.

1) spaces in file names or folders (the path to the file) are not accepted. and will cause an error. use _ instead.

2) all cab files and or xml files must be set to the read only attribute as runCC's last task is clean up and will delete them otherwise.

So, how do you tell it to run from Storage Card without a space in it? Also, it seems that RunCC doesn't pick up my sdconfig.txt file whether there are spaces in anything or not.

I'm a first time SDConfig user. I just did a hard reset with MM Rom. My SD Config is set to install 24 Cabs. It's been on MM's splash screen (with the status bar) for about an hour or so. How long should it take for the SDConfig to run?

ok, i think im understanding this...one question tho..is there a way to save all of you settings like backlight settings, ringtone, things like that...basically, what i would like to do is load one rom, get EVRYTHING set up the way i want it (all programs and settings for both the programs and the settings) and then if a new rom comes along be able to load all fo those previous settings to the new rom...can someone help me with that

if your cab has an additional step after the normal "ok" it will hang on install and necer complete. If there is an additional splash screen that appears it will also freeze. For you people waiting for the UC to complete and the bar hasnt moved in a while youll need to go through the cabs in your list again one by one and look for an extra step on the install and remove them.

+1 for sashimi. love it, havent fully set EVERYTHING up like i want though, ill have clear some time to set it up

+2 for Sashimi. I like mine with a dollop of wasabi :mrgreen:
JK I use it for quickly adding in programs/settings that I use all the time. For the rest, mostly registry tweaks, I made a .cab file.

absolutely. it installs cabs fresh, kinda like you install them yourself instead its somewhat automated. i havent got around to using sashami for registry and xml yet, i have reading to do
