TomTom 7 lag best way to get rid of the lag?

Well i used gpsgate and it may and i say may have made it a little better but i am not going to pay for it unless i found a free serial number.Other then that what is the best way to help this lag?

I am not great at hacks so programs help me the best or a way to use gpsgate without that stupid trial.

Anyway help with this lag?

Re: TomTom 7 lag best way to get rid of the lag?

Try this reg edits. This is what works well for me with Tom Tom 7.

Then edit registry
Under: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver\
Drivers\GpsOneDevice\PollInterval -> 100 (default is 1000)
Drivers\InputBufferSize -> 1024 (default is 4096)
Drivers\OutputBufferSize -> 1024 (default is 4096)
Drivers\SleepOnNoData -> 100 (default is 1000)
Multiplexer\MaxBufferSize -> 1024 (by default not present, you have to create it)

Re: TomTom 7 lag best way to get rid of the lag?

I don't have a cab but it's easy to make this changes. All you have to do is use a reg edit app. I use the Resco one. Then all you are doing is making the chages to the existing DWords. Then wait a little bit and soft reset. Don't be scared to learn something new.

How much lag did you see? With GPSGate on, I see zero to 1 sec lag time. Good enough for me.

You have to create a new DWord.

Also, you might want to start using the "Thanks" button for all the people that help you.

Yes, once you make a new DWord, you will name it MaxBufferSize and set the value to 1024.

Re: TomTom 7 lag best way to get rid of the lag?

I remember having issues with the htc touch pro (original) and sprint came out with an update that included a new ppst(pri update) and the problems went away. I can't even tell the current pri on my htc touch pro 2. It used to be under Device Info, now it has been replaced by HTC's version.

Re: TomTom 7 lag best way to get rid of the lag?

GPSgate costs money after the free trail.I looked the web for someone posting a crack for it but could not find one.But really is useless without it.Plus the price they want to me is not worth the money.

Well i went for a ride and those edits did not help a bit nada so still looking for something to fix this darn lag and something i do not have pay money for gpsgate is ok but not paying the $'s for it.

TomTom got serious lag but others like igo8 and garmin have little to no lag.

So it maybe software manuf. problem?
