Re: battery problem.. constantly over 300 mA discharge... Program to monitor battery

My phone has started to do the same thing over the last 2 days, before I was able to make it through a whole day with about ~20-30% battery left (don't remember the average drain amount), now in the last two days er so it is dieing by 3 pm with equal and probably even less usage. My battery drain was running around 350 - 400 mA without wifi or bluetooth enabled today, performed a soft reset and it dropped to i think 260, but about 5 minutes later it was back to 350 again. Only difference in the last two days is a reinstall of the stealth tethering cab and Im in Ohio instead of Colorado currently... maybe my tp2 doesn't like the midwest?

Edit: I am not running s2u2 either

Observation: turning on wifi has NO effect on drainage.. this suggests to me that maybe its always on even though it says off... any way to check this? i also have that stealth thingy.. it was part of one of those packages.. any way to shut this off to verify if maybe on sprint this causes the battery issue?

I think my issues is Google maps (doh shoulda thought about that), even though I'm using my phone less I'm using google maps a lot more the last couple days. Right now phone is running at 230 mA with wifi disabled and 297 mA with it enabled now which is about right, if I turn on google maps it jumps and holds steady to 510 mA because of GPS / Data Connection . I don't believe stealth tethering can be removed easily without a hard reset but I'm not sure. But I do doubt this is the problem, as so many people have this enabled on this forum I'm sure, but you never know? Good luck

How do you check the battery discharge rate?

I use http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/pag...ueBattery.aspx it shows you your battery stats. YOu can find the direct download link in the touchpro cleanup tweak thread in the sticky section.

I don't have google maps either.... I'm not even sure 300 mA discharge is a problem? Just wondering why it dies over night while it's supposed to be off and I've closed all the programs, even a reboot... who knows? Maybe when the unlocker comes out and I flash a completely new rom it'll fix stuff?

Re: battery problem.. constantly over 300 mA discharge... Program to monitor battery

Mine is like this too and I am ready to send it back and start using my storm again. I can stream Slacker on my Storm for 8 hours straight EASY with no heat issues. This morning my TP2 completely died from 100% to 0% in 2 hours and 20 minutes with a battery temp of 125.6 degrees F, because I was listening to Sirius. Ok so I wont do that again but it seems a shame considering we pay for unlimited data but the phone cant handle it

Then I plug it in sitting on my desk for over 4 hours and the charge level is only at 67% with NOTHING running , in fact it was powered off while charging..... I really dont want to have to hard reset again but DAMN! Guess sending it back is an option....

I recommend Battlog. It is a pretty cool app that will run in the background and log the data into a (.csv) comma seperated value format. You can export data into excel or view results with a text editor app. Here's a link :http://www.pocketpcfreeware.mobi/download-battlog.html
