MMS size increase?
 

Is there a way to increase the MMS send / receive size? I remember the old ArcSoft on the TP we could change the settings to allow larger files.

The default size limit on the Sprint Touch Pro2 is 1,000Kb (1MB)

How much larger do you want it?

I remember the Acrosoft on my touch pro was limited to 500Kb

Wondering this as well...Maybe 1500kb would work. I take some nice pics w my TP2 and some files are just too big. Any help would be appreciated.

Change wap1sendlimit and wap2sendlimit to 1228800 from 307200

Well in keyboard mode I ran into it by accident. Its the zoom levels only when u r n keyboard mode. well maybe only i never tried it any other way. check it out..

FURRELKT...
have your camera send the pictures to your storage card. Then you can take all the pictures and videos your card can hold. I am running a 16 gb card and snap shots of anything and everything.

We are asking about the sending size limit... currently it is 1,000Kb (1MB) ...we would like it to be a larger size. anyone have a resolution as to where we can increase the size limit while sending MMS?

works for me.. i can send up to 2mb

Just an FYI. This is probably also limited by your carrier. I've had issues sending MMS to my girlfriend on AT&T. They get converted down (pretty sure the limit is 300kb for them). However, the real problem is that her's come to me HVGA at the best. That ends up being 60kb max. I'd love to change her settings for this if I can.

seems to have changed the size limit thanks a bunch i'm goning to try & push it to the limit 2night to see if i could get more size.....oh yeah sent a thanks ur way

My previous devices have always been limited to 500kb but I noticed last night my TP2 has a limit of 1200kb already , nice :D

I changed mine to 700000 and I just sent a 4 MB video lol... I wonder if there's gonna be any backlash

the device can always be changed, the real question is what are the carrier limits. just because you can send a 1MB message does not mean someone else can receive it.

Bump - I'm curious too if anyone really knows what the size limits on MMS messages are for each carrier. I'm on Verizon, what is their limit? I've sent an MMS of 1.1MB successfully.

Hi Guys,

quick question: When i first got my TP2, i realized that i could get picmail but couldnt send it for some reason. I increased the MMS size and made sure that the files are within that limit. Im still on stock ROM. However, i still can only receive and not send. Anyone else encounter this issue? Let me know, id really like to be able to send picmail from my phone...

I was able to send when I had my stock rom, maybe the picture quality is too high and you need to bump up the size limit (as stated above) again. When you change the size limit for Receive, change the "send" to match.

Here is what I did. I basically added a "5" to whatever was there. 55120000 - I forget how many MB that is... I think 6 but I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong.

WAP1RecvDefault... FROM 5120000 to 55120000 (I added an extra "5" to whatever was there.)

WAP1SendDefault... FROM 5120000 to 55120000 (I added an extra "5" to whatever was there.)

WAP2RecvDefault... FROM 5120000 to 55120000 (I added an extra "5" to whatever was there.)

WAP2SendDefault... FROM 5120000 to 55120000 (I added an extra "5" to whatever was there.)

I implemented the suggested changes and now my phone acts like it can send up to 32mb worth of data in an MMS. Yes I said "mb". That is what my phone says. However, every message I attempt to send comes back with an "HTTP SEND: Unable to send MMS. Try again later." Any suggestions??

yea, send smaller pictures.......

As was stated before, you can change the size limits in the device to basically anything you want but that still won't allow you to send/receive a 30 meg video......

LOL. I didn't say that I was sending a 30mb file. I actually am only trying to send a 352k file. I get the same error message. Good suggestion though.

you all probably have the same menu, but there is a thing that pops up when I attach an image or video to an MMS that is more than the limit, and the menu allows me to reduce the size or quality of the image. It's pretty handy since it converts it on the fly from within the MMS send screen.

And when you think about it, if you are sending the images or video to someone else's phone, it's not likely they are going to have a better screen than us TP2 users....so downgrading images isn't a huge deal.

4.8 mb sent/recv sucessfully in original resolution, as well as a 6.1mb song.

any way to increase video resolution recording in the registry or is it maxed out to the cameras limit? 352x288 is a strange size
