AvantGo Alternative? Reading the NYTimes on TP2

I've been struggling to find an an alternative since AvantGo shut down. I used to read the NYTimes in NYC, but ever since they shut down I haven't been able to find a suitable alternative to it. I need to be able to download the entire paper (or at least the top stories) and read it without internet access.

Any help?

RSS Feed- go to the Times website, http://www.nytimes.com/services/xml/rss/index.html
and there are plenty of different feeds for their different sections. Then find a feeder to your liking (the verizon TP2 has one built in).

I simply go to mobile.nytimes.com to read it from my TP2.

Problem is that most of my commute is underground and there's no service in the NYC subway system...yet.

Can't you use the "push" (misnomer) solution that the TP2 has within Manila. I know Mobility Site did a little blurb on it yesterday... maybe it would work for you...

As for an RSS reader, RSS Hub - which comes with your TP2 - is very suitable. It's essentially Ilium's Newsbreak.

Problem with the NYTime's RSS feeds are that it only gives the first paragraph of the article. Anyone know a way around that?

There are RSS readers (FreeRange, for instance) that have "Flight Mode," which - I believe - downloads the full articles for offline reading if you intend to be offline for some period (like your train ride).

I'm not sure if RSS Hub, SBSH Go News or SPB News have this feature, but it might be worth checking.
