Has sprint stopped EVDO data roaming?
 

I live in a 1xrtt only area and I used to be able to force roam and get EVDO from Alltel with the touch pro and mogul. I now have a TP2 and can get voice roaming only but the data stays at 1xrtt from Alltel.
I have tried all the reg edits available with not luck. The only time I see EVDO on force roaming is when I switch from forced roaming to automatic. For a few seconds I get EVDO and it tested at 1000 bps versus the 40 bps I get on 1xrtt. I have change the PRL to the one I used on the touch pro but that does not help.
How is sprint blocking EVDO? Apparently the PRL has nothing to do with it. Is it a software issue or radio issue?
If you know how to fix the problem, please respond.

I was wondering the exact same thing....are you using the stock taskbar? I noticed this when I had installed tswoen's taskbar however haven't had the chance to test it with stock yet.

My TP2 is stock and I just got EVDO data roaming yesterday out in the country and it worked.

I was not aware this could be done, so all i would need to do is find a cab that gives the advanced phone options? Anyone have a link to that cab? I have a stock tp2 from sprint. How do you know that you are roaming on evdo does the icon look different? anyway to tell?

Everything is stock on my TP2.

The little roaming icon shows up on top along with the regular EVDO icon.

It will say "1x" or "EV" on top of the screen.

Do you have the phone setting at "Roam Only" when you got the EVDO signal?
I think sprint is limiting roaming to 1X where sprint has 1X only.

I'm roaming right now with EVDO. I have noticed that when I'm roaming, I'm more likely to have 1x, but I guess that just depends on the towers near you.

What is your PRL and radio?
