Re: --01/04/2010 --[FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS] Touch Pro2 FAQ --01/04/2010 --
I have the stock Sprint running, using it in Canada with GSM only, every time I soft reset the phone, once it gets back into WinMo it keeps showing a Handsfree Activation and after maybe 10-15 seconds, says there's an error and I just hit OK (I can also hit Cancel during the process and almost always do). This in no way affects anything on my phone, everything works and all, but how do I stop it from doing this each time? Thanks :)

My Brother is having an issue with his HTC touch Pro 2 (Sprint). His is fresh out of the box, unmolested, no roms or anything done with it other than me disabling the SMS sent notification.
He's having an issue where in his SMS inbox is showing 1 new message. There are no messages in the inbox, outbox, sent...nothing. he's deleted all items and did the little "Empty deleted items" he has also done the "Clear SMS/MMS" and that didn't help him either. He's done everything short of a hard reset...he's not an expert on Pocket PCS, as this is his first (unless you count his Palm Treo 755 or the Blackberry he had before this) There is only so much I can do with helping him over the phone and not being there with the device in hand. Does anyone have a simple way to solve his issue without me having to drive to Brooklyn to do registry edits on his device? I've read through this FAQ and don't see this issue coverd anywhere. I had a similar problem with my touch Pro, but only had it with Yahoo. deleted my mail setup on there, and set it up fresh and problem was solved... he can't do that for his SMS however. I'm still VERY new to this phone as I only got it about a month ago |

I have MightyROM with 6.5 and M2.5, and I installed the ArcSoft MMS cab but didn't want it anymore so uninstalled it -- now, however, the "Inbox" key on my Mail tab leads to some weird version of Outlook mailbox, but it is supposed to lead to the normal 6.5 email window for my Gmail account.
Anyone know how to fix this shortcut? |

hmm, I'm surprised that I haven't seen any threads (hard to search these keywords) or FAQ concerning SIM cards and contacts. since the whole sim card is noob territory for us cdma folk. any tips on managing the 2 different storage places?

It is not used like an SD card, and is analogous to a Credit Card strip, which contains info on your CC account, etc. Once the TP2 is "security unlocked" you can use SIM cards from any GSM carrier w/service in the location you are traveling in. You can also then use custom "unlocked" radio ROMS to facilitate this function, as a locked radio will only operate on the select carrier for which it was developed. A "U-type" radio will allow any carriers SIM card to work w/your phone. I know this is likely not a complete description of SIM functions, but it should be enough to get you going in the right research direction ;) |
